This unique looking crossover SUV was the standard bearer for this modern station wagon when it debuted in 2003. Though it has been joined by a host of competitors, it still remains a popular choice for those wanting cargo versatility, sporty performance, and car-like handling.
The 2007 Nissan Murano comes in the base S, sporty SE, and luxury SL trims. Though the SE only comes in all-wheel drive, both S and SL are available in either all-wheel or front-wheel. A 3.5-liter, 245-hp V6 engine is used across the line with a CVT continuously variable transmission. With seating for five in two rows of seats, the backseat folds for more storage and reclines for more comfort. All 2007 Muranos come standard with ABS brakes, dual front and side curtain airbags, power driver's seat, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, and a front and rear spoiler. The SE and SL models feature a rear-view camera and 10-way power driver's seat. For a sportier ride to go along with its all-wheel drive capability, the SE comes with a stiffer suspension, roof rack, and xenon headlights.
New for 2007 is a tire pressure monitor.
Most owners of the 2007 Murano love its power and car-like handling (it's based on the Altima platform). The CVT shifts smoothly, and the ride feels solid, yet sporty enough to be fun. The long list of standard features is a nice bonus, as are the comfy seats and plenty of legroom. The most favorite features seem to be the smart key and the rear cameras. Negative comments focus on poor gas mileage and a very common brake squeal when reversing.
