2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE Review
ProsAcceleration, steering, handling, stereo, HID headlights ConsStiff ride in SE, steering is a bit light, stock tires hinder performance and rain/snow handling
75
Cvt Works Well — The 3.5 SE with CVT is a very sporty front-wheel drive sedan. It is excellent in long drives and gets decent gas mileage (up to 31mpg on highway). One downside is that if you want to push it hard, it likes premium gas. If you don't drive it hard, then 87 works fine. My biggest complaint is about the stock tires. They are not as good as I hoped in snow/rain. Also, they are not very good performance tires. I plan to replace them once they're worn and get something better. 09 Altima's come with different stock tires, which would address this. The car has an amazing chassis. It loves twisty roads and highways. I would say it is by far the best front-wheel drive car that I've ever driven. The CVT is amazingly smooth and provides instant power whenever you need it. However no-transmission can read your mind. Fortunately, it can be shifted manually as well. The response is instant. This is a car for the person who does a lot of driving and likes to enjoy themself behind the wheel. It is much easier to live with than its sportier competitors and makes for a great every-day driver.

Prosgood fuel economy, nice performance and handleing, nice features Conscan't really think of any

2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 Sl — I traded in my Ford Mustang (*cry*) for the Altima and haven't been disappointed. It has CVT (continuously variable transmission) which makes you feel like you are never shifting, great power for a V6 (best in its class), and an assortment of nice features. My car was a dealer demo and is fully loaded. 6 CD changer, bluetooth, XM, and navigation system all make it nice to drive. Only problem I have had with it is the seat seems a little too lose but the dealer insists it's fine... might take it to another nissan dealer. Overall it's a great midsized sedan with new technology built into it. The best feature IMO is the push button start.

ProsSeats, Navigation, engine, style Consgas mileage, but its a V6! Aux plug location
65
If You Want To Look Single In A Four Door Car — One word...WOW! Everything about the car is great. The power under the right foot is always there, youjust have to be ready for a bit of torque steer if youshut off the VDC. If you get a auto make sure you use the manual mode often. I like to get up to speed in "D" then shift over to 6th gear to hold the gas mileage as high as possible. The navigation system is sopt on. I try to confuse the system to see if it will really find the fastest way to locations I already know. The only thing I wish it had was "arrival ime to final destination" function. The Bose is really the way to go. I use XM and never have problems with a good signal unless the sky really is blocked. I wish someone would make a IPod holder for the aux plug. as it is you have to have a cord from your armrest to the dash, which just does not look right in a $35K auto. When my lease is up I will be looking for a new Alti.

ProsVirutally everything ConsThe weight of the car, the acceleration (too much)

8/10 — OOO... let me tell you about this one. Great performance. Acceleration almost feels beastly... sometimes, like it's too much for the car - which is also a problem, if you look it at. Great accessories. Built nice. Beautiful interior and exterior - feels a bit more classier than a Nissan used to be. Gas mileage is.... decent. Car is a little heavy, but the handling's not so bad. Great to drive. Loved every minute of driving this car. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsCVT, MPG, Acceleration, Handling, Styling, Insulation. ConsIs loud on cold start mornings until it warms up in a few mins. but not that big of deal.

My New Altima — This car is amazing!!! Iwould recomend it to anyone. It has amazing styling, and it looks more like a sports car than a economy car. The fuel milage is great. I drive at least 60 miles a day to school and work...ussually more, and i swear i tap the gas gauge to make sure it is moving correctly... it moves so slowly. The car is surprisingly quick for a four cylinder. And, the CVT is amazing in the way that it controls the power. The car moves like a V6 instead of a four cylinder. Acctually beat my sisters Maxima SE. Very quite ride, and is insulated very well. Stock sound system sounds really good even without the Bose upgrade. Push button start and intellegent key is not a neccesity but is a nice feture for a car of this price. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsIt's fun to drive for a big sedan Conscan't think of any.

It's Great. — I don't like the arm rest on the doors because they are not made well. For a 4 banger it has some torgue. The lines on the car are really nice. He had a few minor problems with it, but I would buy another. Primary Use: Family transportation

Prospush start Constires

Good For Transportation But Not For Performance Driving — The first altima I have liked, the shape is very nice on the eyes. The shifter made from polymer makes you think your going to brake the shifter during quick shifting. The tires are loud and they break traction alot when starting above 2k rpms. The stereo is good the controls are easy and it has an Aux. output.

Prosgreat gas mileage, smooth CVT, good pick up Conshard seats

2007 Nissan Altima 3.5sl — This is a great car. Great HP and pickup. The CVT transmission is awesome. Never feel a shift. Get about 23mpg city which is great for a V6, especially the way I drive. Very fun to drive and looks sexy. Had to replace the driver door seal, but it got worn from hitting it every time I got in the car. Other than that it's been great. |
