The Sport edition of the 2007 Mercedes-Benz C350 was powered by a 3.5-liter double-overhead-cam, 24-valve V6 engine that produced 268 horsepower. The engine was linked to a fully synchronized six-speed manual overdrive transmission with a direct action short-throw shifter.
New features for 2007 were limited, and included 10-way power-adjustable sport front seats, a four-way-adjustable tilt/telescoping steering column, and 17-inch six-spoke alloy wheels. Other standard features included power windows, electronic cruise control, air conditioning, power door locks, dual front and side airbags, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and velour carpeting and floor mats.
Of course, there was a six-speaker stereo system with an in-dash CD player, as well as steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, entrance lamps at the front doors, and lots of the other niceties you expect in a luxury car -- even a small one.
Anti-lock brakes, stability control, and traction control were also part of the package. Among the options were leather seats, a sunroof, and a navigation system.
Overall, while drivers liked the C350's performance, styling, handling, and comfort, some found it a bit quirky. Some of the controls, for instance, were located in odd places, drivers noted.
