2007 Ford Ranger XLT Review
ProsGreat for a wide range of tasks Consnot great on gas until after about $1000 of aftermarket upgrades
35
Great $18,000 Investment And All Purpose Vehicle — It' great for everyday use, it's got room to haul stuff, it's 4x4 for off road and winter use, it can tow 6000 lbs and it's not bad looking. Power - mine puts out about 268 hp and 313 lb/ft torque (it's modified with tuner unit, intake, ignition system, and magnaflow exhaust)(stock numbers are 221 hp and 265 lb/ft torque) it's quick for what it is but still only mid 15s 1/4 times. Quality - no warranty work yet as of 3 yrs and 43,000 miles Appearance- it looks like a truck should but is smaller than an F-150 or Ram. better than S-10 but not quite a Lightning pickup Cost - zero maintenance costs, mileage (stock is avg 21mpg) modified is about 25mpg when I'm not beating on it Fun- It's fun to drive because of decent power and 4.10 ratio gears, the interior is sporty, and it is very capable off road Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

2007 Ford Ranger STX Review
ProsDecent milage, adequate power, quiet and comfortable. ConsCheap and not well designed plastic trim parts
35
Ranger Stx Faults And Delights. — I ordered a Ford Ranger STX with the extended cab minus the rear door option and left out the jump seats. I like the truck except for the cheap plastic parts which are failure prone. The center console in mine has completely failed with a center crack transverse to the part which renders it unable to remain in position. Both the upper and lower portion has the crack and I can't see any method of making it stronger or less susceptible to cracking. The front air dam is what lead us to want this model when we saw one in late 2006. However we have found it is weakly attached and at low temperatures is highly susceptible to vinyl beakage rendering the part unable to remain in a position where it looks acceptale. The bucket seats aren't all that comfortable but are acceptable. The seat belt tends to twist and run under making it upside down and difficult to return to the correct position due to the tight clearance of the belt where it goes through the buckle. Gas mileage using the cruise control is about 26 MPH. Performance is about equal to our 2008 Mustang which both have the 6 cylinder engine and similar performance characteristics. The Ranger isn't as aerodynamic as the Mustang getting slightly less gas milage.

ProsGas Mileage, Fun, Low maintenance, No power locks or doors ConsRegular Cab
45
Great Ford Truck — The only thing there is to dislike about my truck is that there is not alot of room as it is only a regular cab. But it came with a tool box and it runs great. It has great gas mileage averaging at around 27mpg actual. Though its all stock and has no power anything (minus breaks and steering of course) which is just the way I like it, that way less things have a chance to go wrong with it.

Great Truck, Very Fun To Drive, And To Keep Clean (well I Enjoy It Anyways) — I love my truck what can I say... She has given me some problems but always comes out stronger in the end! She has about 65k miles in her right now and I have people come up to me ans ask if its brand new, yeah I keep her looking good. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Love My Truck, The Only Thing Is That The Double Cabs Should Come Out In 3ltr As Standard Though. — Performance - acceleration - Great, braking - Needs ABS and EBS, handling - Great Build Quality - has it needed repairs? - No repairs, squeaks/rattles - None Appearance - interior - basic and functional, exterior styling - looks great needs wrap around bumper with winch mountings Cost of Ownership - fuel mileage - good but could be better, maintenance - costs are low Fun Factor - is this car fun to drive? - fantastic to drive, good fun

Proseverything! Consnot too great on gas

Drive It And You'll Want It. — A fabulous, sturdy vehicle that is fun to drive. Every woman should have one! The 6 cylinder engine is peppy and quiet and there is minimal road noise. I love mine and can pretty much assure you that you'll want it if you drive it. Primary Use: Family transportation

Its Everything I Expected And More — Build Quality: I have had the Bakkie now for three years and it is still living up to my expectations. It requires very little attention with regards to Services but I make sure all the levels are constantly toped up so that I have no issues. Car Comparisons: I considered the Toyota Hi-Lux and the Nissan Navara, but this one won me over d

ProsExtended cab, gas mileage, bed space, lower tailgate ConsFront suspension, horse power
55
Great Truck!!! — Yeah the performance isn't great, but with the gas prices the way they are right now, a four banger is great! The front suspension leaves a little to be desired. The rest of the truck is great! Extended cab makes it easy to haul around valuables in the cab, and extra room for friends with the beer run jumpseats. The bed is a great size and is able to haul my dirtbike around. The tailgate is also low enough (unlike the new full size trucks) that I can get the bike in the back by myself. The five speed manual shifts great and gives you the freedom to get into the higher RPM's that this four banger loves! Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosfuel mileage Conswish it was a four door.

Great Vehicle — This is a great vehicle for the price. The performance is outstanding with the 2.3 liter engine. I get about 30 MPG on the highway and about 23 all around. This is a reliable truck with great quality, I have driven several small trucks and the ranger is by far the best built. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
