A more potent power plant is optional on the Fusion SE and SEL trims. A 3.0 liter V-6 supplies 221 horsepower, and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The reduction to fuel economy is minimal with this upgrade: the EPA estimate falls from 24/32 to 21/29 mpg. The SE comes standard with several upgrades over the base S, including power driver seat, an in-dash CD changer, steering wheel audio controls, foglights, carbon-fiber-like interior trim accents, alloy wheels and a fold-down front-passenger seat.

The V6-powered Fusion can also be equipped with all-wheel drive. Fuel economy with this engine/drive train combination is 19/29 mpg. The 3.0 liter V-6 will generate 221 horsepower, and it is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The SE comes standard with everything found on the base level Fusion S, plus a power driver seat, an in-dash CD changer, steering wheel audio controls, foglights, carbon-fiber-like interior trim accents and a fold-down front-passenger seat. The steel wheels found on the S are replaced with alloys here.
