One of two one-ton trims in this utility-van's lineup, the 2007 Ford Econoline Cargo E350 Super Duty gets more horsepower for increased hauling and towing capacity. A 5.4-liter SOHC V8 serves up 255 hp and 350 ft-lbs of torque at a low 2,500 RPM. In addition to the standard 4-speed automatic, a 5-speed automatic transmission is available. Towing power increases from 7,500 to 10,000 pounds with the optional trailer hitch. For even more power, you can opt for a 6.0-liter turbodiesel V8 or a 6.8-liter V10.
This rear-wheel-drive van retains the same standard features as the lighter-duty trims, including air conditioning, intermittent wipers, a tachometer, a radio, vinyl seats, front power outlets, tilt and power steering, and vinyl seats in the front-row bench. A second-row bench and front-row captain's chairs are optional. The cargo area, accessed through a rear barn door, holds 237 cubic feet.
An independent front twin-I-beam suspension and solid live axle rear suspension support the 2007 Econoline Cargo E350 Super Duty. Safety features include dual front airbags, 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, and 16-inch wheels with all-season tires. Parking sensors and a limited-slip differential are optional. The E350 also offers rear climate control, in addition to cruise control, remote entry, full power features, cloth seats, and running boards. A manual sliding door can be substituted for the standard hinged ones.
