The 2007 Ford Econoline Cargo E250 is a heavier, three-quarter-ton van, but adds only intermittent wipers to the E150's function set. It comes standard with a 4.6-liter, 16-valve V8 that delivers 225 hp and 286 ft-lbs of torque, paired with a 4-speed automatic. Equipped with an optional tow hitch, it can tow up to 7,500 pounds. More power comes with the optional 5.4-liter, 255-hp V8. The rear-wheel-drive van seats two in a front bench, but a second-row bench can be added as well as front-row captain's chairs. An independent twin I-beam front and solid live axle rear suspension take care of handling, while the 16-inch steel wheels with all-season tires provide the road grip. Alloy wheels are available.
Limited safety features include 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes and dual front airbags. No side curtain bags are offered, but you can add parking sensors, longer side mirrors, and a limited-slip rear differential. Air conditioning, a radio, a tachometer, a front power outlet, and tilt and power steering represent the modern convenience features. If you need more, cruise control, a full power setup, remote entry, and a CD player are available. Also optional are running boards, tinted glass, and cloth seats. The side hinged doors can also be replaced with a manual sliding one.
