Pros

Lots of pros, but after 144k miles, only maintenance costs have been a rear brake job around 63k. This truck has been super-reliable & a great tower!

Cons

Car manufacturer's continue to lighten up their vehicles to improve on fuel mileage by using too much plastic & very light-gage sheet metal. Wish fuel mileage was 17+ mpg, but it easily averages 14-15.5 mpg on road trips, cruising around 75+ mph

Another Great Chevy Truck! — I've had outstanding luck with my Chevy's! Although Ford & Dodge have some nice features on their trucks, after owning over 15 Chevy cars & trucks, I could never switch! This truck in particular, has been a great towing machine, and never has let me down. I can always count on it. I've used Mobil 1 Synthetic since new and run 5-7k on an oil change. It doesn't burn a drop of oil and it is always transparent on the dipstick. I'll be very surprised if it doesn't make 250+k

Great Tow Vehicle Not A Commuter Vehicle — It is classic General Motors truck styling, big Diesel power with out boost lag. Six speed automatic Allision transmission that has been proven in bigger rigs for decades. Turn key reliability without the head aches of regeneration and DEF fluid. The classic LBZ Duramax is the way to go for budget minded people who don't want and headaches.

Great Worker — I liked and enjoyed everything about this truck. I would keep it for a very long time if it got better fuel mileage. This mileage is only 17 miles per gallon and I need to have at least 25 miles per gallon because of my location.

Worth Buying — •Performance - great acceleration, great braking, and good handling •Build Quality - Driven and owned dodges and fords, never had something squeak/rattle so much. GM must improve! •Appearance - Love the way it looks! •Cost of Ownership - Get 10-12 city/country roads, 16-20 hwy, towing 8000lbs got 11.7 •Fun Factor - yes

Worth Every Penny — acceleration for a diesel is out of this world good, braking is solid but not great, handling is great, No repairs needed thus far. Looks sharp. fuel economy could be better but it is a 4wd 3/4 ton truck made to pull a house so it is what it is. fun ride to own...

Great Beefy Truck When You Buy One Know You're Buying A Truck Not A Cadillac — not enough power under the hood but what cars does.....its a truck so lots of road noiuse and squeaks and rattles. gas cost are high but thats expected. definitely fun to drive. great in blaxck but the dipped front end really bugs me.

Best Truck I've And My Family Has Ever Owned — Amazing sound and quality to this truck. The Duramax desiel is great. Also incredible performance, 650 foot pounds of tourqe at the wheels. This baby cranks. Even though i dont get to drive it often, it is so fun to drive it.
