The LS trim is the base level for the 2007 Monte Carlo lineup. Standard features include air conditioning, keyless entry, full power accessories and 16-inch steel wheels. The LS is one of two models to be powered by the 3.5 liter V-6, which provides 211 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque. All models use a four-speed automatic transmission to route power to the front wheels.
The LT is the Monte Carlo's mid-level trim. This model is also powered by the 3.5 liter V-6, but several luxury and convenience features have been added. Upgrades include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, steering wheel audio controls, a rear spoiler and some additional leather interior trim. Leather upholstery, a sun roof and XM satellite radio are all optional.
The Monte Carlo SS upgrades to a 5.3 liter V-8, which delivers 303 horsepower and 323 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy is reduced to 18/28 mpg (from 21/31) with this power plant. Exclusive SS features include 18-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, leather upholstery, heated front seats, fog lamps and ground effects.
