2007 Chevrolet Avalanche

The 2007 Avalanche is a dream car to any of us who played with Tonka trucks or Matchbox cars: the imagination seems to control what can be done with it. Want a pickup? Manually lower the midgate and you have one. Want an SUV? Open that midgate up. The fully configurable cab allows the driver to transport large items as a pickup might, but drive in the comfort as an SUV.

The Avalanche is not without its problems: testers have called it "unwieldy" in city situations, and it seems too large for even the biggest parking spots. Complaints also include a few blindspots in the back.
