2007 Buick LaCrosse Trims and Specs

The base level of the mid-size 2007 Buick Lacrosse sedan is no slouch and adheres to Buick's emphasis on upscale luxury at affordable prices. The Lacrosse CX is powered by a 3.8-liter, 200-hp V6 engine and a 4-speed automatic. No manual is available. It comes with a full array of safety features, including ABS brakes, dual front and side airbags, traction control, twilight sensing headlights, and a new tire pressure monitor.

On the inside, the 2007 Lacrosse CX offers full power features, including a power driver's seat, cruise control (with controls on the wheel), air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, front and rear cupholders, and intermittent wipers. OnStar with Turn-by-Turn directions is also standard. The five-passenger sedan can be outfitted to seat six with a front bench replacing the bucket seats. It comes with a long list of options, including a sunroof, the new remote start, leather trim, audio and climate controls on the steering wheel, and a Driver Information Center display. Owners say the looks are somewhat bland, but the drive is smooth and quiet.

A bit more luxury in the form of more standard features is what distinguishes the 2007 Buick LaCrosse CXL from the base CX, though it does have the same 3.8-liter, 200-hp V6 and 4-speed automatic. This mid-size front-wheel drive sedan also boasts ABS brakes, traction control, a new tire pressure monitor, daytime running lights, a security system, and dual front and side airbags.

The roomy sedan for five or six (depending on whether you choose front row bucket or bench seats) comes with all the same power options, cruise control and tilt steering as the CX, but adds comfortable leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a trip computer, and a compass. It also adds the cruise control buttons onto the steering wheel. New for the 2007 LaCrosse CXL this year is faux wood accents along the dash, doors, and center console. OnStar is also standard. No navigation system is available, though the OnStar does have Turn-by-Turn. For the CXL, some options include a sunroof, auto-dimming mirrors, heated mirrors, a power passenger seat, 17-inch wheels, and a 6-CD changer.

The 2007 Buick LaCrosse CXS is the sporty version of this mid-size luxury sedan, aimed at trying to attract a more youthful driver by combining comfort and luxury, with a roomy interior and driving performance. The CXS has a different engine from the other trims, a more modern 3.6-liter, 240-hp V6, that's also matched with the 4-speed automatic only. While the other trims have 16-inch wheels, the 2007 LaCrosse CXS has 17-inch alloy wheels and a sports-tuned suspension. ABS brakes, a tire monitor, daytime running lights, traction control, and dual front and side airbags are standard. Unlike the other trims, the CXS also offers stability control.

Except for a few more standard features, it is much like the CXL in terms of convenience. Power everything, including a driver's seat, cruise control with controls on the steering wheel, OnStar with Turn-by-Turn, a trip computer, faux wood trim, and a compass are standard. The CXS also adds fog lights, leather-wrapped wheel and shifter, and XM satellite radio. Options add heated mirrors and seats, auto-dimming mirror, and a power passenger seat.
