ConsAfter 11 Months of ownership, I can still report that SMG III is still rubbish. $255 for an oil service is a bit much and 10.5 average MPG is kind of a buzz kill. Someone was right when they said; Its like a 2 year old child. Its really annoying some of the time but if anyone tried to take it away from you, You'd kill em. I couldn't be happier.

Buy It — Fantastic all rounder. Build quality is great, performance is brilliant 5 liter V10 8350RPM redline enough said.The single clutch gearbox feels like BMW has done the most un-German thing possible; Cutting Corners. Its dimwitted and jerky in slow city driving and very uncomfortable. other than that it feels like car half its size. Styling is a bit too serious for me but hey they're German. Cost of ownership is astronomical ($300 oil changes) and you will struggle to do better than 18mpg hwy. Other than the gearbox and gas mileage its the most fun you can have with 4 doors. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Super Sedan. — This car is soooo much fun to drive, gives you more than 500Bhp, if you dont like speed,,,, avoid this car. you can still ride it every single day. its almost perfect. it look nice all the time, when you drive the SMG gearbox you cannot go back to normal gearbox, the only solution is to buy manuel instead. i really enjoy my ride. thats it,,,, nothing less nothing more. ;) Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) | ||

Love It — awesome in every way but not for the gear box. the down shift is really really fast. but shifting up a gear is really slow. big horse power low torque waste of gas. Rear wheel drive = bad start. awesome lumbar support. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) | ||

10/10 — The car is awsome.The quality of the interior and exterior is perfect. Performance is next to none. The price was alittle over the top but it is a BMW. I love the car to drive its so much funand looks beautiful.The convertible is the way to go, no soft top just full touch of a button | ||

Fast And Gorgous — The M5 is unlike any car I've ever driven. It is an extension of your body and it responds to you instantly. I just put Michellin Sport 2's on and it handles even better if that's possible. The only criticism I have is with iDrive which is slow and not very user friendly. The car has plenty of power (500 hp) but little torque. | ||
