Great Car For Drivers — I have owned this car for three years after purchasing used. It has been reliable and low cost to own. Currently needs a Dual Mass Flywheel replaced. The recall for this issue skipped this particular vehicle as it was a 2007 model but sold/acknowledged as a 2006. I would buy another.

Wish it was better on gas. Likes to eat light bulbs.

Fun Car To Drive — One of my favorite drives (which I've owned) of all time. It's quick and very responsive. Loads of trunk space and ample cabin room. I have never changed so many light bulbs on a car ever. Every once in a while a bunch will burn out one right after another and then stop for a couple of months then start burning out one by one all over again.

This A Awesome Daily Driver That Puts A Smile On My Face All The Time. — The car is outstanding daily driver.I get about 27 mpg on a good day. The car is a little slow off the line but once it gets going, it goes!!!!Comfortable leather sport seats, bright xenon headlights, thick sporty steering wheel, smooth turbo

Pros

Very good power, great cornering balance, awesome interior, fantastic materials and build quality, and excellent visibility.

Cons

Looks mostly like a standard Jetta, fairly pricey when new, stiff ride, blow-off valves are weak and fail, and maintenance is expensive.

A Great All-around Car! — I replaced my 2003 Jetta GLI with this car and the differences were surprising. The first impression was a lack of torque after coming from a 24-valve VR6, but better top-end power. The second impression was a far stiffer ride than the old car, but wow, what a difference in the cornering! My car had the sunroof/leather option package and was supremely comfortable with tons of convenience features which added to the driving experience immensely. The lack of power was easily solved with a GIAC computer re-flash which did wonders for the acceleration, but you had to be careful with that in the rain as the front tires would break-loose in 3rd gear! The only thing I would have done differently looking back, I would have gotten the DSG transmission...

A Blast With A Price Tag — car is quick, handles great, car looks sharp, car is fun to drive as a 6 speed manual but cost alot to fix anything, have spent about 3000 in last year on maintenance and car only has 57000 kms on car

LEMON

Cons

LEMON due to electronic malfunction that caused the car to seize

25

Jettas Are Economical If You Do Not Get A Lemon — Electronics caused engine to quit and lock down due to a security feature Great on gas if the engine was properly built Cargo space was ample... backseat leg room limited Peep in her step for being a 2.0 but overall Lemon

Great Car — this car is great.Rides very comfy. The only thing that is a dislike is the vibration as you engage and disengage the clutch. I have just installed a set of michelin x ice snow tires!!!! this car is really quite fun to drive and handles very good. The coolest thing is when you turn your lights on at night the display is great!!!!

Well Worth The Investment. — Love getting almost 600 miles on ONE TANK! Acceleration is good thanks to the turbo. Brakes are awesome, stop on a dime, which is good because this car ride smoothly and you will be cruising above the speed limit before you know it. Very little wind noise, handles like a dream in gusting winds too. Lots of leg room in the rear. Fuel miser, low maintenance and fun to drive. Sunroof and premium sound system rock! Your teenager will fight you for he keys!

great little car that full fills all my needs

Cons

not as good in gas mileage as the older cars

25

Nice Little Package — rides great but I have noticed the gas mileage is not as good as my old 1996 golf probably due to the fact of another cylinder and heavier. IT still feels nimble and quick. Has lots of nice features that I like and it seems well made.
