The brand new sexy 2006 Pontiac Solstice convertible sits low to the ground, with Pontiac's trademark wide stance. It gets its power from a 2.4-liter, 177-hp DOHC 4-cylinder Ecotec engine and choice of 5-speed manual or optional 5-speed automatic. It sits on 18-inch alloy wheels and has 166 lb-ft of torque. The rear-wheel drive 2006 Solstice convertible has few standard features, in order to keep it lightweight and sporty. It has front airbags, tilt steering wheel, leather wheel and shifter trim, and a security system. Intermittent wipers, daytime running lights, and automatic headlights are also standard.
The soft top is removed manually and stores inside the already small 5 cubic-foot trunk, cutting down considerably on cargo size. It does feature a glass window, however. If you'd rather trade comfort and convenience for racing power, you can add on cruise control, air conditioning, power windows, locks, and mirrors, ABS brakes, fog lights, satellite radio, OnStar, and a CD changer with MP3 compatibility. Drivers of the 2006 Pontiac Solstice go ga-ga over its looks and style, but also feel it's a fun sporty ride with decent gas mileage. Cupholder location and the small trunk are the most common complaints.
