CarGurus Overview

The sporty mid-size sedan is left virtually untouched for 2006.  The Pontiac Grand Prix Base comes with a 3.8-liter, 200-hp V6 engine and 4-speed auto tran and sits on 16-inch all-season tires.  A rear spoiler, dual front airbags and daytime running lights are standard, but you'll pay more for ABS brakes, traction control, head airbags, a tire monitor, and foglights.

But the 2006 Grand Prix Base is still well equipped with power windows, doors, and locks, OnStar, a Driver Information Center, tachometer, cruise control, air conditioning, and a radio data readout.  Rear seats split-fold to increase trunk size to 57 cubic feet. Options add a CD-changer, sunroof, heated seats, new perforated leather shifter and wheel trim, satellite radio, remote start, a trip computer, navigation system, and 17-inch tires.  A Special Edition pack adds ground effects and bright exhaust tips.  Drivers of the 2006 Grand Prix say it's a sporty, yet smooth ride, and the V6 engine has plenty of power.  A cramped backseat is made for kids rather than adults, and cheap plastic mars the interior.

This overview covers the Base trim only.
