CarGurus Overview
The 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP Coupe is a two-door sport coupe with a fastback-like roofline and a 3.9-liter V6 that hits 240-hp with a choice of 4-speed shiftable automatic or 6-speed manual. The new GTP Coupe is also well equipped, like the sedan, with ABS brakes, traction and stability control, dual front airbags, fog lights, daytime running lights, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Like the GTP Sedan, the 2006 G6 GTP Coupe adds a satellite radio, automatic climate control, and radio data readout to the list of standard features.
Other standard equipment includes full power accessories and a power driver's seat, cruise control, a CD player with upgraded speakers, intermittent wipers, and a 60/40 split-fold rear seat. Trunk space expands to 14 cubic feet. Gas mileage on the sportiest of the G6 coupes is around 18/26 mpg. Options add on heated leather seats, leather trim, OnStar, sunroof, power-adjustable pedals, a 6-CD changer, remote start, steering wheel audio controls, and side and head airbags. Drivers of the 2006 G6 GTP Coupe say it is quiet and smooth and a lot of fun to drive, at a pretty affordable price. Rear visibility and headroom can be compromised and the sunroof tends to leak.
This overview covers the GTP Coupe trim only.
