CarGurus Overview
The base model 2006 Pontiac G6 sedan comes with a 2.4-liter, 167-hp DOHC I4 engine and 4-speed shiftable automatic transmission. It is a performance mid-size sedan, but as a base model, comes with few standard features. There are more options available than on the 1SV, however. 16-inch wheels hold up the 2006 G6 Sedan, which houses power windows, locks, mirrors, and a power driver's seat. A tachometer, intermittent wipers, daytime running lights, tilt steering wheel, air conditioning, and CD player are also standard. The base model adds cruise control with controls on the steering wheel to what you get on the 1SV.
The 2006 G6 Base offers a lot more options. ABS brakes, front-side and front and rear head airbags, and traction control are some extra safety features. You can also get heated seats, a sunroof, power-adjustable pedals, remote start, and a rear spoiler. Good handling, a smooth and quiet ride, and decent power for a 4-cylinder get high marks from drivers of the 2006 G6 Base. A cheap plastic interior, visibility-impeding rear headrests, and poor cupholder location are some downsides.
This overview covers the Base trim only.
