The luxury trim of the already lavishly equipped full-size, 8-passenger SUV is the 2006 Nissan Armada LE. The rear-wheel drive behemoth features three rows of seats, with a new 60/40 split-folding third row that allows for a maximum of 97 cubic feet of storage. This year, the 2006 Armada LE gets dual-zone climate control and, exclusive to the LE, power folding mirrors with turn signals. Performance and safety-wise, the SUV comes with a limited slip rear differential, dual front and all-row side airbags, 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes, traction and stability control, brake assist, parking sensors, a tire monitor, automatic headlights, auto-dimming mirrors, skid plates, running boards, and a rollover sensor. A 5.6-liter, 305-hp DOHC and 5-speed auto tran deliver its power.
For family comfort, the 2006 Armada LE builds on the SE by adding heated leather seats, power front seats with driver's memory, remote windows and locks, a power liftgate, and a standard trailer hitch for 9100 pounds of towing capability. New this year is a CD changer/MP3 player, and other features include a compass and temperature display, remote entry, rear audio controls, wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, and lots of cupholders and storage compartments. A sunroof, DVD player, and satellite radio are options across the lineup, but the 2006 Armada LE can also be equipped with second row bucket seats, a navigation system, and a handy rearview camera. Owners like the power, comfort, room, and the ease of the power liftgate, but wish for better mileage and xenon headlights.
