Proshandling, high winding rotary engine is a blast to drive. Conslow end torque, mazda needs to make the r3 a turbo! NOW!

Great Car, Superb Handling. — Thrill to drive, but lacks a bit of torque on the lower rpm range. if you wanna go fast: drop the clutch around 2.5-3 and try not to peel out.. this car has amazing power from 3-9k rpm range. handles better than any other 4 door out there. even ones that are priced 50k higher. overall excellent car would love to own one again. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsGreat handling and acceleration ConsLousy for winter weather driving

Mazda Rx8 Pros And Cons — I love the handling and quick acceleration of the RX8 and of course the body design is one of it's best features. However, if you live in an environment that gets cold or has a real winter season, I'd suggest getting another car or at least that you have a backup vehicle. The RX8 has all kinds of issues in the cold weather from being totally immobile with just a little snow to losing tire pressure.

Prosover-all phenomal car, even better as a tuner. Conspoor gas, especially if your constantly about 7000 revs per minute. perfomrance mods are more expensive.

2006 Se3p — Overall, the car is easy to drive. I cannot stress how well the car handles from factory. The car doesn't need much effort correct or to break the rear-end loose, nor is it difficult to take corners hard. This would be good for a person who has never driven a rear-wheel drive car before or for the "drifter-in-training". This car is designed for top-end speed, hence having the tachometer stop at 10,000 rpms. My personal top speed was 140 mph @ about 7500 rpms. My topped out my fourth gear at 90+ mph. The car can run as long as there is plenty of road. Unlike conventional piston motors, there are less moving parts on a rotary. If need be, the motor and trans can be easily removed because the rotary is so much smaller.

ProsGorgeous looks, nice rear-hinged doors to seat 4 persons comfortably ConsLow-end torque could be better; not-so-good fuel economy

Mazda Rx-8 Review — Gorgeous looks, nice rear-hinged doors to seat 4 persons comfortably. Low-end torque could be better; not-so-good fuel economy. Good handling for a Japanese car, due to its 50:50 distribution. Fun, zippy car to drive. Ageless, coupe looks. Requires regular maintenance. Aftermarket performance tuning is limited for AT models. Would definitely recommend to friends if fuel economy is not an issue

Rotary Engine Is Always Fun To Wind Up — Great car, still gets looks around the streets everyday. Gotta have an exhaust to hear that rotary engine though. Its got its creaks and rattles here and there but what car doesn't. It hasn't had any mechanical issues yet and I'm at 25k and going strong. The Renesis Rotary engine is great, feels and sounds like a motorcycle. |
