If You Do Not Mind Filling Up A 20 Gallon Gas Tank Every 250 Miles - Then This Is Your Car. — Have had a lot of electronic issues....but since everything has been replaced, it is working quite well. Lot of power and will pull anything....comfortable and fun to drive. Has about every bell and whistle on it. I really like the auto high beams and the auto windshield wipers. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsGreat off road or in heavy snow. ConsGas mileage isn't bad but not great either

8.5 Out Of 10 Stars — Build quality on the interior trim is a little cheesy. 4.7 v-8could use more bottom end torque. Only had one problem with the electrical connection for the transfer case shift motor. Fixed it myself thanks to some excellent over-the-phone coaching from my favorite Jeep delaer Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsStrong, luxo-SUV, understated ConsOthers presume it is not a good car? Ask if it a problem car - well NO!

Love My Jeep — This car has been flawless... Zero defects and fast, holds 6 comfortably, hemi power for pulling and acceleration, 3 sunroof, luggage rack, privacy tinting, love the one - off design too. Tremendous service, comfort, bluetooth, GPS, Heated and Cooled everything, and it can trailer my bike, or the Ferrari. Love this beast

ProsNice and big, plenty of room for 7 passengers if you want. ConsNot great mileage, occasional performance issues

Love My Jeep — I LOVE my Commander, and love being a Jeep Girl. The commander is a big truck, so be prepared to really "climb in" - or "climb up" to be more specific. This does mean you're sitting pretty on the highway though, with a very good view of the road and the traffic around you. My one issue with performance is an occasional lack in quick pickup - its very finicky about where your foot is on the pedal when you stomp on the pedal. If you're not positioned in the middle of the pedal, you'll have a delay in engine performance. This is with the six cyl. engine, not the hemi.

ProsIs roomy and comfortable on long trips, very smooth, quiet ride, stereo sound is excellent. Not a lot of problems with car ConsGas mileage, but a big car is necessary for big families

Great Car For Family Or Lots Of Trips With Friends — I like the room, the cargo capacity, the stereo quality/sound is great, Jeep rides smooth and quiet, rarely had it in the shop except for routine maintenance. Great overall SUV and met my needs for hauling my kids around. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsReliable, solid car in all weather, for transporting kids, dogs, and things. Rides great, lots of room, and with towing package and luggage rack, can take 6 people on long trips very comfortable. ConsGas Mileage.

Solid, Clean And All Purpose Vehicle. — This Commander has been a great vehicle for our family of 4 for everything from short trips to the school, to vacations, to tailgating and for work purposes. It has been kept up very well, and is in good condition. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsI love the look of this Jeep! It performs so well in the Midwest winter season and has made many successful ski trips with my family! The rack on top is great for a Thule rocket box and looks very sporty! Goes down the highway smoothly and rear heat and air is a great add on! The third row of seats comes in handy for extra riders. ConsI would drive my Jeep forever if it wasn't for the poor gas mileage. I have the V8 so performance is great but the tradeoff is big bucks at the gas station. The back seating is not ideal for long legs, and with the head rests up, visibility is poor.
25
Looks And Performance Are Great, Gas Mileage Is A Dissappointment. — Jeep Commander is a sporty looking vehicle with unique features and lots of power in the V8. Tradeoff is poor gas mileage and less than ideal leg room in the back seat. The third row is realistically only going to be comfortable for younger children. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsBest car I have ever drivin in snow. Never has to worry about bad weather. This Jeep will drive thru 2 feet of snow without an issue. It's great driving off road on the beach. It's powerful and very comfortable during long trips. Lots of room for a family of 6. ConsNot much cargo room if you have all six people riding in it. Poor on gas mileage. Only gets about 15 mpg on the express way.

Great Jeep For Snow / Poor Weather Driving, Comfy Ride, Lots Of Gadgets — I loved how I never have to dig my car out during a huge snow storm, just start it up and drive, we have had some nasty storms since 2008 and I have never had an issue driving in snow. It's very comfy on long drives. Lots of room for 6 people. However the cargo room is limited when all passengers are riding. Thank goodness for the great roof rack. It's poor on gas mileage but when I can drive my entire family on long trips, it's worth it. Primary Use: Family transportation

Great Value — We like the fact that this has all the bells and whistles one would want in a rugged SUV type vehicle. It has a very comfortable ride, but you pay for it in gas mileage around town. On the highway, it gets close to 19 mpg. Primary Use: Family transportation
