Pros

Vehicle has been a great family ride. Heated seats and back theater seating is awesome for riders to see the road.  Bluetooth connectivity through the speakers is a plus.  5.7 Liter Hemi has performed without flaw for over 110000 miles

Cons

Once in awhile the starter does not want to engage. The battery was replaced to resolve. When it happens it only requires to return the key to off and keep trying. It has always started.

Fantastic — this particular vehicle has surpassed any thought of being a lemon. It was in the shop once to have the transfer case fluids replaced. That's It! All back seats fold down. Plenty of storage when they are down. 7 passenger belts with all seats up. When all are up the cargo capacity is very limited, with exception to outside top rack area.

Love My Jeep — I LOVE my Commander, and love being a Jeep Girl. The commander is a big truck, so be prepared to really "climb in" - or "climb up" to be more specific. This does mean you're sitting pretty on the highway though, with a very good view of the road and the traffic around you. My one issue with performance is an occasional lack in quick pickup - its very finicky about where your foot is on the pedal when you stomp on the pedal. If you're not positioned in the middle of the pedal, you'll have a delay in engine performance. This is with the six cyl. engine, not the hemi.

Pros

Pro's  - Power, visibility, handling on all types of road conditions and terrain is awesome with the quadra trac 4.

Cons

Con's - too many problems with everything, for the price I could have bought a Mercedes M class or BMW X series and I don't think I would have had all the reliability issues, and rattles, and rust, etc.

06 Commander Limited — Performance - The HEMI is awesome!! Braking, handling and steering are all really good. All the options like NAV and ESP are really handy too. Build Quality - The Jeep is just over 2 years old. From new the supspension rattles like the front end is going to fall out of the vehicle in cold weather, the tail gate had a rust spot and now has two more around the liftgate handle to go with it. The DVD player rattles. The Jeep has also been in the shop every couple months for everything like the navigation quitting to the windows not rolling up, rattles, squeaks, power seats not working , air bag malfuntions, ESP malfunctions, tire pressure monitors failing, no starts, and heater/ac malfunctions. Not too impressive and a huge pain in the butt. It will be getting returned after the lease is up! Thank God! Cost of Ownership - Fuel economy is not that bad considering the amount of power the HEMI has, pretty much all of the repairs so far have been covered under warranty. Overall pretty good but I wouldn't want to own the Jeep with out warranty it could be really expensive. Also a drive train service is about 365 bucks so that is not too good especially when you add another 300 bucks for atune up. The 700 dollar touch after tax is too too expensive in my mind.

2006 Jeep Commander 65th Limited Edition Sucks — We have had nothing but trouble with this thing. It if one thing after another, has 40,000 ,iles already had new water pump, need head gasket, had transmition leak, needs new window seals, knocking coming from bottom, and the list goes on! JUNK

Cons

Avoid the 2006 model - lots of problems with the electrical

If You Do Not Mind Filling Up A 20 Gallon Gas Tank Every 250 Miles - Then This Is Your Car. — Have had a lot of electronic issues....but since everything has been replaced, it is working quite well. Lot of power and will pull anything....comfortable and fun to drive. Has about every bell and whistle on it. I really like the auto high beams and the auto windshield wipers.

Pros

Reliable, solid car in all weather, for transporting kids, dogs, and things.  Rides great, lots of room, and with towing package and luggage rack, can take 6 people on long trips very comfortable.

Cons

Gas Mileage.

Solid, Clean And All Purpose Vehicle. — This Commander has been a great vehicle for our family of 4 for everything from short trips to the school, to vacations, to tailgating and for work purposes. It has been kept up very well, and is in good condition.

Great off road or in heavy snow.

Cons

Gas mileage isn't bad but not great either

8.5 Out Of 10 Stars — Build quality on the interior trim is a little cheesy. 4.7 v-8could use more bottom end torque. Only had one problem with the electrical connection for the transfer case shift motor. Fixed it myself thanks to some excellent over-the-phone coaching from my favorite Jeep delaer

Pros

I love the look of this Jeep! It performs so well in the Midwest winter season and has made many successful ski trips with my family! The rack on top is great for a Thule rocket box and looks very sporty! Goes down the highway smoothly and rear heat and air is a great add on! The third row of seats comes in handy for extra riders.

Cons

I would drive my Jeep forever if it wasn't for the poor gas mileage. I have the V8 so performance is great but the tradeoff is big bucks at the gas station. The back seating is not ideal for long legs, and with the head rests up, visibility is poor.

Looks And Performance Are Great, Gas Mileage Is A Dissappointment. — Jeep Commander is a sporty looking vehicle with unique features and lots of power in the V8. Tradeoff is poor gas mileage and less than ideal leg room in the back seat. The third row is realistically only going to be comfortable for younger children.

Great Value — We like the fact that this has all the bells and whistles one would want in a rugged SUV type vehicle. It has a very comfortable ride, but you pay for it in gas mileage around town. On the highway, it gets close to 19 mpg.
