Neck Breaker (people Snap Their Own Necks Lookin Lol) — Engine knock.Rear drum brakes lack stopping ability to a disgusting degree. Passenger side windshield wiper doesn't completely touch the windshield. Driver side seat heater will turn on randomly and frequently by its self. Disconnected the seat heater until I get a new switch.

Rides And Handles Grrreat, With Lots Of Power. — steering has a slight rattle, been told this can be upgraded through warranty. Check engine light has been coming on, apparently it is a emmissions vent, but it was replaced, light came back on a few days later. Overall, I love it and has lots of balls for a 5.3 L. Getting about 24 MPG on highway, could prob easily get 700 kms per tank.

Great Truck — Truck is well built and a good value. I do not like the intermediate steering shaft design that clunks around and feels like you have bad ball joints due to the grease settling out in the shaft.

Boat Tower — The first car I drove was the Impala. The first Vehichel I drove Was the Sierra, Which amazingly had less understeer than the impala (read previous review to get joke) It is an amazing truck. It done many trips and has seen many lake trips. Its towing capabilities are great. It is a work horse and has had its battle scars but its a reselient machine.

Best Truck In Its Class. — Good acceleration, good speed, not needed repairs in a while; It was tan with chrome door-handles, chrome gas tank cover, chrome EVERYWHERE! . Even though it had low gas mileage it was fun to drive around the nearby states and parishes.

Buy A Truck, Use It Like One! — quicker then ford or dodge, no major repairs yet, very comfortable and luxurious interior, beats gas mileage on dodge, similar to ford. Wont drive anything else other then GM. Best truck out of north american and foriegn auto makers. Buy One!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Love The Truck — lots of power. really comfortable ride. what i dont like is it has cd changer problems i blew 2 wheel bearings i like 3 months. and i have to change my fan belt every couple months. i have tryed to have the problems fixed but. gmc is making it difficult. love the truck hate the service from gmc. P.s. the lack of traction control makes this truck great for drifting... ;-)

Daily Toy — I like everything about my truck, it's big enough for the whole family, looks amazing, is a blast to drive. Has a killer sound system that can be heard if you want to be. Just an overall good truck. Tony

Clean, In And Out — I love everything about this car! It has great power, performance and most of all, beauty to go along with the brains. If you are looking for a truck that can haul landscaping materials or a large family, this is the truck for you.

Pros

Truck looked really nice

Cons

New transmission at 50,000 miles. GM would not help at all on repairs. Brake lines rusted through at 54,000.  Also had rusty spots under the bed. Front wheel bearing replaced at 40k.  This truck was driven about 7k a year. Never abused. It was my dream truck and turned out to be a nightmare.  Traded for a Ford. GMC = Get More Cash. Professional grade was anything but. When I traded my truck it had a 94 auto check score.

Do Your Research. — Looked nice. Plenty of front passenger space for a large adult. Easy to read gauges. Drove nice and rode nice. I got real world mpg of about 14. That is driving normal. Between 10 and 12 pulling a pontoon. Hwy was about 17 . If you have a large son like I do he will complain constantly about riding in the backseat of the extended cab. At around 50k miles the transmission started slipping and had to be replaced. GM has an ongoing problem with these transmissions but there is no recall. Also had rust issues. This truck was purchased new in middle TN and is not a northern truck where you might expect issues. I loved my truck but was very disappointed in it. It also had a 5.3 engine and did not have much get up and go compared to other friends trucks. I may have gotten a lemon but it really scared me off from other GM products. To be fair , I have a friend with a 2000 Chevy truck that is almost exactly the same and he has 140k on his and works it like a mule. His is a great truck and one of the reasons that I bought mine. He has had a few problems but nothing major.
