2006 Ford Five Hundred Overview
The 2006 Ford Five Hundred is the second year of Ford's replacement for its Taurus. Intended to complete with the Chevy Impala, Toyota Camry (though some say the Avalon), and Honda Accord, the 500 is very spacious and has Volvo-inspired lines on its exterior. (Being compared to a Volvo is now a good thing, unlike in the 80s... =D)
Gas economy is good, and the price is right; Ford is striving to have the lowest-priced larger sedan. Estimates for this vehicle range from $22,500 to just under $29,000. The standard engine is a 3.0-liter 4V V6 Duratec, achieving 203 horsepower at 5750 rpm.
