Pros

Great gas milieage, nice handling, good acceleration, roomy.

Cons

The feel of the powertrain and the regenerative brakes is a little awkward sometimes.  The car is not sold in Italy, where I live.

Frugal Daily Driver — Since my other car was sporty, a gas guzzler, and not good to load cargo or to park up on curbs, or do anything other than go fast and look awesome, I needed something more practical to be a daily driver. The Ford Escape was one of the earlier vehicles to offer a hybrid powertrainl, and so it could be had on the used market cheapest. It is practical, gets awesome gas mileage, and actually handles quite nicely. And since the engine was designed to compete with the 6 cylinder model, it actually accelerates decently, too.

Pros

It has held up well for over 75k miles of not the greatest of drivers

Cons

The cover on the rear storage area is a roll up, and not very good.

I Have Had No Major Problems With This Car, Its Easy To Drive For Shorter Persons — I like that the seats are high enough for a person of short stature can see over the hood. I am not the best driver in the world, but the car is still in very good shape. I fully enjoy this vehicle, and love that its a hybrid.

I Will Seriously Consider Buying Another One In Five Or Six Years! — I've never taken it off-road, but the acceleraton, braking and handling are great for city and highway driving. Turns on a dime! I keep up the maintenance...no major repair issues with the Hybrid...now if I could avoid flat tires... Not too flashy inside or out, but easy on the eyes, especially when it's clean! I estimate the hybrid saves me about 25% on my yearly gas costs...I can get up to 31mpg during ideal conditions and regularly get 28 or 29mpg with everyday driving...sometimes a little less when it's really cold outside...I enjoy sitting up a little higher than traditional sedans...better view of the road and traffic. Love the heated seats and I can sit comfortably for long drives. It allso offers great hauling flexibility with fold-down rear seats...I've gotten TWO six foot bookcases in it at one time.

Great Vehicle — 4 wheel drive, And the computer adjust the power delivered to each tire over 200 times a second. Oh yea and they can put out up to 155hp which is better than the v6 escape that puts out 200 hp.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Very Reliable, Not Major Service For 90,000 Miles — Only replaced tires and oil for 90k. Well mannered and very safe. Walked away from a major accident that totalled the truck without a scratch

It's A Hybrid! — The mileage was marginal and the ride was okay. When it ran on battery power only, it was so quiet!
