2006 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500

The Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 got some significant changes for 2006.  The biggest one comes in the introduction of the Mega Cab trim, which adds another 20 inches to the cabin to maximize interior room.  In addition, the Ram Pickup 1500 now has optional navigation and DVD system.  With a stouter frame and 28 trims, the Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 has something solid for everyone.

This domestic pickup gives you your choice of 3 standard engines: a 3.7 L V6, a 4.7 L V8, and a 5.7 L V8.  For the most part, expect this vehicle to tow up to around 9000 lbs.  Gas mileage generally ranges from 14 mpg in the city to 18 on the highway.  Trims come in 2 door, 3 seat or 4 door, 6 seat configurations.

Overall, the 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 plays its dual role quite well as a rugged workhorse and everyday transportation.  This truck handles well, the Mega Cab has lots of room, and the V8s give you the extra oomph needed to get to where you need to go.  On the other hand, ABS brakes don't come standard and gas mileage could use an increase.  Despite its shortcomings, the Ram Pickup 1500 maintains its reputation as a solid all-purpose truck.
