The LT3 trim is the top tier for the Silverado 3500, gaining exclusive standard features like alloy wheels and steering wheel audio controls. Other standard features include cruise control, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, full power accessories, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power seat for the driver and a premium Bose audio system.

While the lighter duty Silverado 1500 and 2500 extended cab models offer buyers a choice between all three bed lengths, the 3500s are long bed-only, regardless of trim, cab size, engine or drive train and wheel configurations. This bed measures 97.6 inches, and aids the one-ton truck's impressive 5000-pound payload.

Silverados with the dual-rear-wheel setup will perform better when equipped with one of the two more powerful engines. Choosing the 6.6 liter Duramax turbodiesel V8, which provides 360 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. An 8.1 liter V8 is also available, offering 330 horses and 450 pound-feet of torque.
