The 2006 Chevrolet Malibu was restyled, and dropped the chrome bar that ran across the grille of the car. These changes hearkened back to earlier days of this model, recalling a sportier era.
The base engine is a 2.2-liter Ecotec L61 I4, capable of 145 horsepower. Available engines include a 3.5-liter LX9 V6, rated at 200 horsepower and standard in the LS and LT trims. Both the Sedan and Maxx SS come standard with the 3.9-liter LZ9, rated at 240 horsepower.
