Love It — The car is really fun to drive; I truly enjoy its cool acceleration, stability and reliable brakes. Both internal and external design fits to my taste, the only thing I miss is cooling of the leather seats.However, fuel consumption is a bit higher than I would prefer as car owner, but this is more or less natural for a 2.0 liter turbo engine using gas. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Vulva....volvo — Overall, the Volvo S60 is a wonderful vehicle. There are only a few minor flaws in the car that I have noticed thus far; one being the lag in throttle response with an automatic transmission, but this is common in most cars. As far as performance goes, it is much more than I had expected and hoped for. With around 210 horsepower from the stock 2.5 litre turbocharged engine, I have been able to keep up with a friend's 2003 Audi TT Quattro which pushes 280 hp after some custom work. As always, Volvo has produced a very well built car. Everything from the smooth and quiet ride to the heated seats and mirrors seems to have been exceptionally well designed. As for the cost of ownership, like other European luxury cars, the Volvo S60 very few maintenance requirements other than the regular oil change and tire rotations. However, when something goes on the vehicle, be prepared to spend at least $1,000.00 each time as the parts are not cheap. Like any other car, gas mileage depends a great deal on how you drive the car. When I have my foot into the throttle I can expect to get between 6 and 12 mpg. When taking a long highway drive and obeying speed limits, that number quickly exceeds 28 mpg. The Volvo S60 is not only a fun car to drive, but it is also very safe, allowing the driver to get away with maneuvers that might leave other cars with its wheels spinning at the clouds. | ||

ProsI like the comfort in general and enough power. Good electronics helps. ConsAutomatic transmission never downshift when you need a sudden acceleration with full throttle.

S60 2005 2.4l — This car have a 2.4L 5 inline with 165hp 5 speed automatic transmission FWD STC. Good acceleration. Very very good breaking ABS and EBD. Any annoying sound inside. Very good visibility but mirrors are a bit little for parking. Really good build qualit, leather and wood for the steering wheel. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

I Would Buy Another Volvo — Very under-rated car that scored very highly in the yearly JD Power surveys. Ive not had a day's trouble. Smooth auto box. Economical when driving sensibly and can get on with when reqiured. In fact, showed a true 138km/h top speed on my GPS. It has a very spacious boot, good sound system, very comfy seats with electric adjustment and memory and very safe handling. None of the torque steer issues of earlier Volvos. A bit cramped in rear. Sexiest Of The Swedes. — Very good acceleration; nice sturdy leather interior is worth it. Extremely comfortable ergonomic front seating. Great stability control with winter tires on ice. Back seat is cramped, even for kids. Few repairs needed in 4 years - just one bumper replaced after a hit and run (some big SUV backed into it by the looks of it - couldn't afford the hit to his insurance and ran). Good highway mileage, low maintenance. Fun to drive and safe. Lots of trunk! Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Good Solid Car. — Performance is a bit anemic, as it is the 2.0T, although when the turbo kicks in, it pulls nicely. I wish it was the 2.5T or the T5! Styling is very good, and so is build quality. Wish I could find the wicked S60R. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||
