2005 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Review
ProsSport suspension, 18"BBS rims- lightest BBS ever made, ESP control, ABS, Body Kit, Recaro Seats, Fast Turbo, All black interior, amazing gas milage at high speeds ConsBBS rims hard to clean, hondas try racing you at stop lights

Amazing Thrills And Sleek Sexy Style — I recently bought this car in a 5 speed semi-auto. The car came with a GIAC racing ECU and a diverter valve. After I put a short RAM on the beast, the car was nearly untouchable. Not only is this car FAST, cops do not expect it to be fast either. The Recaro seats are fantastic. The BBS wheels are so sexy, but can be a pain to clean. I wash my car everyday and treat it as if it were one of my children. Owner for 0 years, 3 months

ProsI love my GLI its the best car I've owned to date, its really fast and fun to drive it handles really Good, i got it for under $10000. I love Volkswagen i haven't had any issues with it. The stock rims 18" BBS are awesome as well as the recardo racing seats give it a real racing car feel. The 1.8 turbo engine with the 6 speed manual transmission make It really smooth and run effortlessly even in high speeds. Still have stock don't find a need to tune it. Love this car and will also buy the Golf R32 soon. I love Volkswagen! ConsThe fuel economy isn't that Good, but everything else makes up for it.

2005 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Review
Prosbodacious fuel mileage Conscomes with noisy michelin tires

05 Tdi Jetta Vw — This is the diesel model, which is quiet and odorless, unless I use bio, and then it generally smells like french fries. I bought it with 10,000 miles, and have put on 45,000 so far. The car gets amazing fuel mileage, over 50 mpg on the highway and rarely under 35 in town! I have no clue why Americans are anti-diesel, but it's about time to get over it. The car is so far advanced in emissions it doesn't even register at the DEQ. It isn't a speed demon, but easily gets up to high speeds on cross country travel. Maintenance cost is minimal, I've only ever changed oils and filters. Stock tires are loud, but when replaced with quality Yokohamas the entire ride got way better and quieter. One problem with the trunk remote was replaced under warranty. Only problem I see is that they are very difficult to find, new or used, as they are in such high demand.

Jetta 2.5 - Good Commuter Car — I'd recommend this car to anyone who's looking for a good commuter or a fun car to drive. Aside from the wheels, the car has not cost me that much in terms of cost of ownership. Some complain of the noise, I'm not. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsMPG and it is fun to drive. ConsA little boxy looking

Overall A Great Vehicle — Love how it handles and how inexpensive it is to drive. The seats are comfortable but the rear leg room is limited. It has a large cargo space for a vehicle of this size. I looked for long time to find this TDI wagon, but the wait was worth it. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsHigh mileage, Low maintenance, Cargo/Towing 1000 lbs, ABS (ESP) braking system, ConsShowing minimal wear on interior and exterior.

Outstanding , Excellent In Driving — Remarkable car drives as good when it was only 32, 700 miles. Hugh upgrade done to motor on the mechanical area of jetta. Braking has been upgraded with OEM parts that are slotted rotors front and back plus new brake pads. The VW Jetta drives very smooth especially a notice with the transmission filter and fluid kit change. Overall with the New VW Turbo charger recently replaced on 29 March 2012 what a difference. The motor has new lift injection pump and O2 Oxygen sensor and metering sensor. Plus new battery and new electronic Fuel pump and sensor for the gasoline tank. Drives and handles like new car. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Whew I Love My Baby! — Love my baby! Drives like a dream, great XM radio, lots of fun to drive, mechanically sound. Car has great acceleration, and is very roomy inside. It is bigger inside than my father's Lexus IS 350, a car that I disdain to the ends of the earth. Primary Use: Commuting to work

2005 Volkswagen Jetta Gli Rocks — I am so biased! I love this car. It is now 5 years old. It still looks great! I have had a bit of mechanical troubles...the car was preowned and in an accident, so I don't know how much of my troubles have to do with that! It sounds awesome when you start it up. It drives smooth and handles well. I often drive 130 km/hr and more. It corners well. It is a 6 speed manual transmission. Interior has many brushed stainless accents. Recaro seats are comfortable. Interior dash lights are red and blue. Trunk space is amazing for such a small car. I have room for 2 sets of golf clubs and more. A couple of years ago, I got a bike and all the luggage needed for 3 days away for 2 adults and 2 young kids in the trunk. I cannot say enough great things about this car. Oh, one thing that doesn't look so great right now is the ground effects in the front. Because it is low to the ground, it is easy to hit speed bumps, steep rises or declines in driveways, etc. It looks great before you hit something, then it needs to get fixed. Wheels and tires look awesome (18"), but tires expensive to replace. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
