Oh Baby!!! Fun Sized Car That Is Great On Gas! — This baby hugs the road, you feel like your driving a dream... I've driven on ice and seen SUVs struggle and I had no problems maintaining control. The gas mileage is GREAT especially during these economical times and the price of gasoline. I will miss this car dearly but our growing family needs something bigger. I know you would get just as much fun out of it as I did. Low miles, great mpg and with all the bells and whistles, you can't go wrong purchasing this car! Makes a great graduation present or any fun, economical car to own!! MUST BUY!! Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsGreat for resort and/or city driving. Outstanding in the rain and snow. I wish I got the hardtop w/ turbo or the TDI ConsAt 119,000 miles had to get rid of it! The transmission was soon needing to be replaced for $4,300 and the top started to leak $3,500 to replace.

It Will Not Disappoint You ... And Makes A Positive Statement Where Ever You May Travel!! — Fun car to drive with the top up or down. Acceleration is just okay. Not what I'd like. It is a very heavy and solid drive that corners at high speed extremely well. What I like the very most: there is no change in performance or gas mileage when running the A/C. Great, Fun, Drivers Car. Speedy — Very cool car, huge fun factor, fast. German handling is a winner. Holds the road well. Easy to control in snow. Well equipped and nice interior. Just Precious.....but Lacks Power And Mass — Just precious, and relatively manuerable....but scary on hills (little horsepower), windy streets, and around any large cars. This little thing wouldn't stand a ice cube's chance in helll against a hummer... | ||

Diesel Beetle, Cute, Great Fuel Economy! — Only hybrids get better fuel economy, but this will run biodiesel. Handles like an Audi TT, because it is built on the same platform. Never have to tune up, because there are no spark plugs, etc to worry about. | ||

ProsCar handle the road and accelerates like no body business. Okay on gas, fun to drive. great warranty. You don't ever see one sitting on the side of the road with a pick up sticker on it. ConsLord! the parts are plastic and cheap... stuff just fall off, the motor in the window is slowly braking down, the spoiler fall off (cheap), the fake leather started to crack... the transmission went ( thank God that was covered under warranty) Speaking of warranty once its gone parts are outrageous (plastic spoiler over $250.00!!!). The hub caps pop off. Look around you notice bugs running around with at least one missing hub cap.

My Bug Is Still A Keeper!!! — Overall the bug is a keeper... other than the cons described above the car drives great and is soooo fun and cute...I believe with the new model that came out this year there is a huge improvement on all the things describe as being a con. I dont like the new body style...its looks like a mini cooper and a Porsche combined and simply take away from the classic look the bug is all about... I feel they should have had two optional body's to choose from... the reason I feel people buy them is because it is a bug (that's why I wanted one anyway)... that is just my opinion. | ||

Mike's Beetle — This is a nice car and very dependable. The car is very reliable with comfortable seats. The only problem is the leatherette seats are very cold in the winter. I would recommend this car for anyone who is just starting to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
