2005 Toyota Highlander Limited V6 AWD Review
ProsGreat MPG,handling, inside comfort and reliability for it's class, holds value for future resale. ConsCan't find one yet!

Best Suv In The Market For Mpg, Comfort, reliability — This is my first used car purchase. I researched for a month on this purchase. Once I test drove this suv I was hooked. The comfort of the Limited gives you a Lexus feel. The handling reminds me an Audi. The appearance is plain to on lookers but you feel like a king while driving. The best part you are viewed as practical for this purchase, the same is not true when you purchase an Audi,Acura MDX,BMW X5 and the Mercedes M500. (These were all in the running and test drove) These suv's are great but for the same price with less miles you can get the most reliable suv in the market. ProsGreat used (new for me) car for my typical uses; back and forth to kids practices, commuting to and from work. Needed a reliable vehicle after handing over my Tacoma to my daughter for the rest of HS and college. It was in great condition, driven an average of 11K a year, one minor incident was on fax, scrap while parked, you can see it was garage kept and well maintained. ConsBelieve it or not my only concern with this car, so far, is the center console cup holders; not deep enough ... making full drinks top heavy and not too secure.

Couldn't Ask For A Better Used Vehicle — Very comfortable leather interior, steering and braking took some getting used to after driving a Tacoma for 10 years. The Highlander handles more like a car than a SUV or Crossover SUV. Much better gas mileage than the Tacoma, but I know I will miss the "just throw it into the back" routine of my day! And now that I'm driving one, I do notice A LOT more on the road, thinking I made a pretty good decision about a second car! Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsThis is a very reliable car. It is comfortable and handles quite well (especially compared to other SUV's we have driven). It also gets decent gas mileage. ConsWell... it isn't a sporty looking car. and gas.

Very Reliable. — If you need a car to get you where you are going every time, safely, without spending too much on gas, this is the one. You probably won't win the "Mom with the most impressive SUV" contest. But then think of all the money you will save on maintenance. And honestly I think that it looks better than the newer version. ProsLow maintenence and great fuel mileage in town or on the highway. Roomy interior in the front seat and very driver friendly. ConsNot alot of leg room in the back seat at all.

Great Little Suv. — Overall the Highlander preformed alot better than I expected. Good fuel mileage and plenty of power when you needed it. The only bad thing I could say, is that servicing the front brakes will be a major undertaking if you have never done them on this type of system before. Other than that, it really is a great little SUV. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsSmooth ride, after I switched out the tires. Nothing is made like it use to..... ConsLittle extras, but not worth the additional money. Tires replaced early...... 4 Batteries within 1 1/2 yrs. Wrote to home office, suppose to inspect. Dealer never did. Ended up adding a charger to the battery and plugged it in; if it was going to set for more than a couple of days.

Little Train That Thinks It Can, But Will It? — Good vehicle if you alter a few items. Priced for the Toyota name. We will see if it holds up to that name....... The dogs enjoy the back. Pleaes note: a rating was required for back seats (I have never rode in the back) and for family car (don't have a family to ride in it)

Wouldn't Be Happy With Anything Else — Love this car! Have had Toyota's before. Each seems to have their own unique "quirks", but always runs like a champ if you take care of it. Had a 1986 Tercel 4wd wagon for years and was upset when I could buy a new one. Had over 200K miles on it when I gave it to my sister-in-law in 2004, and she's still driving it. Smoooooooooooooth!!!!!!!!!!!! — favorite vehicle I've ever owned as far as comfort, speed, convenience, size and ride! It would be a little sexier in black or navy blue, but still sexy when my wife is in it. Still nothing hotter than a lady driving a tacoma! Primary Use: Family transportation
