2005 Toyota Corolla XRS Review
ProsFun to drive, great gas mileage Consonly has a 6 speed manual, some people might not like that. I love it.

Xrs — 6 speed manual, 170 hp, great gas mileage, I average 27 mpg with a mixture of city and hwy driving. MPG is closer to 30 mpg if I drive alot of freeway. Definitely more fun to drive than a regular Corolla since it has a sports tuned suspension which is noticeably stiffer than the regular model. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsGreat Gas Mileage ConsNot enough room for our family

Our Sporty Toyota — I love our Toyota :) Great Car! Sporty & Great on Gas :) We have been so pleased with our car but the only thing that sucks is not enough room for all of us. 2 adults & 4 kiddos. Need more Room. But will go with another Toyota for sure. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsFuel efficiency at its best. Lasts forever. ConsNot a fast car. Don't think speed with this baby.

Everlasting Car That Almost Never Lets You Down. — Well built car, looks great in its silver edition. Could do 800 kilometers with on full tank if driven reasonnably. Driving position is excellent and the seats offer good support without causing fatigue. Acceleration ? What is that ? This is definitely not a car for drag racing. It is even considered dull when it comes to driving fun. You can't have it all. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsEverything Consaccidental repairs (stolen rear view mirrors cost a fortune)

Toyota Corolla — Good acceleration, braking and handling for city driving... Enough to leave a Honda Civic in dust... Great fun to drive Expensive accidental repairs, otherwise cheap to maintain... Not gorgeous but smart looking Build quality is quite decent, better than most Japanese cars, but half as good as a German car

ProsPerformance, Reliability, Fun ConsPremium Fuel

2zz-ge In A Corolla!!!??? — THis is a fun little car. Not to mention kinda rare it was a limited production model. It's handling is very predictable, the 6-speed Manual shifts smoothly. Thanks to the 2ZZ-GE it has under the hood, which by the way is the same engine as the Celica. This car can get up and go pretty darn quick. And it can slow down just as quick with the 4-wheel Anti-lock Discs Brakes. Of course it has the bullet-proof reliability of any Toyota. It is a little sportier looking then just any Corolla. The only down side I have found is the need for Premium Fuel.

ProsVery reliable and dependable. ConsBoring to drive.

Reliable Car That Is Torturous To Drive. — This is a car that can best be described as a transportation tool. It is not exciting in any way and has nothing redeeming about it other than the fact that it is a solidly-built, reliable car. Nothing else can be said of the car. Get this car only if you want to have a dependable and affordable car (which basically means most people). Primary Use: Commuting to work

Transport From A To B — Performance - on the slow side (2005 1300 Tazz), handling is quite dead Build Quality - quite good, but dashboard is very slippery when something is placed on it... windnoise quite bad! Appearance - Okay Cost of ownership - Quite Low Fun factor - What fun factor??? Primary Use: Commuting to work

Solid — no power windows or remote for locks. makes a funny sound if i go over 75 its really annoying. other than that it runs great and handles real good. i've had some close calls, well alot actually. and i love the gas milage. Primary Use: Family transportation

Great Compact Car — It gets great gas milage. I get great service at QC Auto Service, Moline, Il I've just gotten routine maintenacne, oil changes, rotate tires, etc, I love having a car I don't have to put a bunch of money in. So far, so good. Great performance, accereration, (except against a semi, or something big.) great braking, handling, and its fun to drive. |
