2005 Scion xA 4 Dr STD Hatchback Review
ProsExcellent gas mileage with regular. Nice first minivanish car. Handles surprisingly well and it stops on a dime. Is wonderful at keeping the inside temp perfect. It is a comfortable ride for 4 maybe 5 and can still move and not ride the ground. ConsTrunk is a bit small. It may be peppy but has no real power for high speeds nor serious acceleration.

ProsThis car is reliable and economical to own and run. It's fun and darn cheap to drive as a commuter car, takes tight turns on roundabouts with ease, and shifts so as to give you good power and acceleration for its size. ConsIt's not a car to take long trips in. No cruise control and size make for an acceptable but not enjoyable ride for long trips.

Great For Your Pocketbook! — I like everything about this car except its lack of comfort for long trips. I haven't driven it more than an hour one way on more than one occasion, but I am used to cruise control. The front seats have good lumbar support and the cup holders and other items all conveniently placed. The radio is nice! Great sound for an economy vehicle. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsOverall a solid vehicle. ConsCons: The size of vehicle. Of course being a hatchback, it does limit who or what you can take in the car! Not the easiest car to drive through snow up here in the north, either. Low clearance and not a very powerful engine (trade-off for good gas mileage) so it is not good in snow and never take off-road.

Solid Economy Vehicle For Single Owners Especially In An Urban Setting — Overall I am pleased with the vehicle. The good fuel economy and low maintenance have made for low vehicle expenses. It is an easy vehicle to do the routine tune-up work on. It is a fun vehicle to drive and has a good stereo system. The only problem I had was with the camshaft system, which had some problems with seals and oil leakage. With the exception of repairing that, there have been no other repairs needed on the vehicle. Scion Xa: The Little Underrated Car That Does — My xA has to be one of the slowest cars on the planet, but it handles like a kart. It's basically a Toyota so it's built like one. Meaning it will run for many years to come and, at four years old, still feels like a new car. It also gets great gas mileage (around 32 with my lead foot). I love how it looks. Everyone likes the xB, but the xA looks like a pugnacious little rally car to me. Driving it is, well, fun, I guess. It's really not made to be driven hard so I can't expect it to put a grin across my face like a 2002ii might. Cost to operate is very low. Just gas and oil changes is all that it's needed so far (knock on wood).

2005 Scion Xa — Bought this car new in July of 2004. It is a Toyota product so you know the quality is there. The sticker said gas mileage was around 38mpg on the hwy and I get around 35. I only have 52,XXX miles on it but the only thing I have done is give it an oil change every 5,000 miles. For a car with a small 4 banger it really does have some "get up and go" when you hit the gas.

For A Small Car With A 1.5l Engine It Does Pretty Well. It's Fun To Drive, Gets Great Mileage. By Kessog
I've had the car for 4 years now and still love it. It gets 34mpg and can run 80mph all day if needed. Running the A/C does bog it down a bit though but I don't use that much anyway. Handling is goo... Read More

Not That Bad A Car... By Matt
This is a very easy and fun car to upkeep. it doesn't have lot of power, but if it did, I can't say I would be here. It's a sharp looking car but it's on the cheap side when it comes to the build. ... Read More
