Nearly Stock Tc — Peppy for a 4-cylinder, good styling, great interior. A lot of available upgrades. 0-60:7-8 seconds stock. Got shafted on the price, but had to have it. Not many in my area, so it'll turn some heads, and any blonde looks good in the passenger seat. -AEM CAI -Custom axle back exhaust

Pros

has a lot of standard features for under 20k, toyota build quality

Cons

Terrible in the snow, leaves more to be desired.

Cool Little Car Thats More Attractive Than The Rest Of Scions Lineup — Its a great car, Build quality is good being that it comes from toyota. Ive had it for almost 4 years and have had no major problems. The car is a commuter.. not a performer. Handling isnt great, nor is acceleration or braking, but its not mean to be a GTI. Overall if you dont have to put up with snow... its a fun little hatch with a lot of standard features.

Pros

Well-priced 2 door hatch with a great options list

Cons

Heavy for what it is, needs a 6 speed transmission, is not a sports car

2005 Scion Tc 5 Speed — Disclaimer: I have some racing experience with autocross and also with faster, better handling cars. I refuse to select 'sport coupe' as this is my only trim option, but overall I enjoy the car. In stock form the braking, handling, and acceleration are about what you would expect but not exceptional. The car is used primarily as a daily driver but it is at least somewhat involving to drive, aided by the fact that mine is a 5 speed. There are a few areas that are prone to rattles, but I've learned to live with them. The hatch can rattle a bit on uneven pavement and/or in cooler temperatures. There is a service bulletin on this but it doesn't really fix the problem. The only issue that has happened to the car to date was an oil leak from the timing cover which was fixed under warranty. If I drive conservatively gas mileage can be between 30-32 mpg with combined highway and city driving. Usually I average around 28-29 mpg with about 30-40% city and the rest highway. As mentioned above, it is a fun car to drive. What would really help this car is weight reduction. Lighter cars are just a lot more enjoyable to drive. The car could also benefit from a 6 speed transmission. I expect this would give the car a few more MPG on the highway.

Nice, Fun, Inexpensive. — Nice, fun, inexpensive. Good quality, good aftermarket support. Could do with some more power or a little less weight. It's a great blend of economy, utility, and fun. It has had a handful of recall issues - that's usually not a good sign, but dealer support is usually great.

Review — I put way too much money into this car, Replaced almost everything. Love the car but customizing gets addicting. The 05 was a bad year, the noises here and there takes some getting used to. Its pretty reliable engine wise.
