2005 Saab 9-5 Arc 2.3T Wagon Review
ProsPerformance, Build Quality, Appearance, Cost, Fun ConsReally needs upgraded telematics like Bluetooth and Ipod connectivity

Saab 9-5 2005 Wagon — Performance is fine off the line but it really comes into it's own when you need to overtake. Torque torque torque it's all about the torque. The build quality is good if a little utalitarian. Nothing has broken or gone wrong in nearly four years so it's hard to grumble. I think my 9-5 wagon is probably the best looking wagon i've seen the bright red with the tinted glass looks very cool. Don't believe the stories about Saabs being expensive to run. All complete hogwash. Both my Saabs have cost less to upkeep than my previous Ford Taurus. For a wagon(Estate) it's a lot of fun. Of course it helps that it is a manual. The torque steer is manageable and despite a little more body roll than I'd like it's really quite chuckable.

2005 Saab 9-5 Aero Review
ProsGreat performance, handling, fuel economy, and comfortable seats! ConsIf you're not a do-it-yourselfer, the car can cost slightly above average for repairs, especially at dealerships.

Saab 9-5 Aero, A Beast To Behold — This car is faster than most V8 powered cars and still gets 30+ miles to the gallon with its high output turbo 4-cylinder engine. The factory 9 speaker Harmon-Kardon stereo is second to none and has suprising punchy bass for a factory system. The highly bucketed leather Aero seats are bar-none the most comfortable seats in production. After 14 hours of driving you still feel refreshed and comfortable. The car is a blast to drive through tight corners with its lowered sport suspension, and matched with performance tires, the car feels nothing short of sure-footed when pushed to extremes. This car is also fantastic in the snow, with dedicated snow tires this car can go many places that a 4WD SUV wouldn't dare to go, and with much greater confidence. Lastly the Bi-Xenon high intensity discharge (HID) projectors are absolutely amazing. They illuminate every inch of the road, and are self adjusting as you drive to compensate for acceleration, braking, and turning. This car has cost me little to nothing to own in the 50,000 miles I've owned it, other than routine oil changes and a set of tires.

Love This Car! — I love this car. It is so versatile. The back seats fold completely flat. The only bad part about that is it limits the way you can position the front seats. The turbo is awesome, and the Sport button on the shifter transforms the car from a granny mobile into a track car. The traction control works great and saved me from hydroplaning into a guard rail on a curvy road the other day. It's very reliable. Just change the oil every 5,000 miles and remember to use synthetic, preferably Mobile 1, because it is has a turbo. I like the typical Saab styling, but I wish it was more sporty looking. My headlights are kind of "foggy" from sun exposure and like any OE headlights, they are expensive to replace. Wish there were real cup holders. The one next to the radio is broken in my car and only fits certain cups. That's just one of those quirky Saab things though. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Saab Review..... — I love this care and have enjoyed it. I found a black one that I like. Almost everything that needed fixed under warranty which was great. Better to get serviced at Jim Ellis Mazda Saab since they know what they are doing!! Primary Use: Commuting to work

Inexpensive Used Sports Sedan Value. — best seats in any $30k car on the market. tires make a huge difference in putting all that power thru the front wheels. early aeros had engine issues with oil sludge and turbo failure, be aware of that when shopping, but it represents a great deal used... usually a low milage 5 year old aero wont run more than 13 grand. I Have Loved This Car. — Appearance, handling, acceleration, all make this car a pleasure to drive. Don't think I could drive a car that's not turbocharged after owning my 9-5. This is has been my 2nd 9-5, and I'm really struggling to not buy a 3rd. :) Primary Use: Commuting to work

I Would Recommend The 9-5 Linear 2.3t Wagon As A Good All Round Family Vehicle — Saab make some great cars, and my 9-5 has been a joy to drive over the years. On long journeys the vehicle comes into its own and is very economical,It does have a full service every year at my local garage and this also works out very well with no frustrating problems to date.I think if safety and space are a priority for you then the 9-5 estate takes some beating, yes you could go for a bmw or a mercedes but I have always felt that with a saab you are getting something a little different, a bit out of the ordinary.
