The 2005 Nissan Maxima SL is the more high-end offering of the mid-sized luxury sedan, and has many features that are only optional on the SE. It is powered by a 265-hp, 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine and 5-speed auto tran, garnering 20/28 mpg. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels, it comes with 4-wheel ABS brakes, six airbags (dual front-side and rear side), traction control, xenon headlights, and automatic headlights. The front-wheel drive sedan seats four, with split-folding rear seats and a 15 cubic foot trunk.
Updated leather upholstery and a new power outlet are added this year, joining the full power feature set, including power front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, heated mirrors, auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry, a CD changer, wheel-mounted audio controls, leather trim, a sunroof, and a trip computer. New options include auto-dimming exterior mirrors and satellite radio. Retractable mirrors, memory settings, and heated seats and steering wheel are other add-ons. An SL-only option is stability control. 2005 Maxima SL owners love the roomy interior, standard features, power, and styling, but dislike the uncomfortable front seats, wide turning radius, interior materials, and tiny dash buttons.
