You Won't Find More Smiles Per Gallon :) — Although it is only 163bhp the 200K moves you swiftly along with ease. In comfort mode the gearbox can be a little slow to respond to kick-down however this is all removed when you select sport mode. It becomes much more responsive and even the slightest touch of the throttle it will go down a gear or two. When left in this mode the 5-speed box will let you go all the way to the red line before changing up... check your speedometer at this point, you'll be going faster than you think! Steering is nice and weighty with a very good direct feel. Seats are a little hard but for what it is they are quite supportive. Everything feels nice and solid inside, however the look and feel of the dashboard is a little cheap however you aren't going to be paying too much attention to that when driving - you'll be having far too much fun. Appearance - far more masculine-looking than the R170, the R171 has an air of the SLR about it, especially from the front. You can also see echoes of its big brother the SL from certain angles. A very beautiful and elegant car, and although it looks a lot more manly than the previous one I'm afraid it's still a bit too girly for some men. Cost of Ownership - Fuel is the biggest issue here. 32mpg on moderate longish drives however if I'm feeling particularly frugal I can get 38mpg. Fun Factor - The sound of the exhaust note will put a smile on your face day in day out. You'll be hunting for tunnels to drive through and look for any excuse to go out with the roof down! Performance - 8/10 Build Quality - 9/10 Appearance - 10/10 Cost of Ownership - 6/10 Fun Factor - 10/10 Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Great Performing Car With Great Styling. — The interior is high quality as expected from a Mercedes. The styling is impressive and is noticed by others (a head turner). The 5.5 liter V8 is powerful had has a great exhaust note (quiet at low speeds and loud when you push it). The 7-speed transmission can be a plus or minus... great for max acceleration/launches but tends to hunt for the right gear in light driving.

ProsThe air scarf blows hot air on your had even on a cold day :-) ConsBeing rear wheel drive it's awful in the snow. Also only a two seater so not a family car.

Slk 350 — Fantastic acceleration. 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds. Brakes are sharpe. No repairs required. Handles wll and can take corners pretty fast. Both exteior and interior stying s great. Expensive to run being 3.5 litre. Really fun to drive. The roar of the exhaust turns heads in a good way. Primary Use: Commuting to work

This Car Is Perfect! — This car is just so perfect! I love it, and it loves me. SLKworld.com is right though, the only downside is the it gives you SS. It's sad. (Smiley Syndrome). This car is very fun to drive. There is nothing that would make me sad. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Merc Slk — Great 2 seater hard top convertable. At 6'" 2in its one of the few 2 seater convertables I can fit in at the same time as my cricket gear. Some might say a bit of a birds car, but the same people usually drive ford fiesta or somthing simillar. I need say no more :-)

Proscockpit styling ConsA longer rear end would make this car perfect.

Turns Heads!!!! — This car turns heads. It handles great and can back it up with power. Wish it had an optional airscarf with a/c and not just heat. Back end could be a little longer like the SL500. Overall for the money this car is awesome. Owner for 3 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:2,500

A Great Drive Winter Or Summer — I love the car. You give next to nothing up with the convertible hard top. The air scarf is a feature that every car should have. It blows ward air over your neck on cold days. It is intended for top down driving but since it is electric it heats up faster than the main car heater so on cold days you get warm air on you fast. I drive it year around in Chicago and love it! Owner for 2 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:12,000 |
