Pros

since the car has a small backseat, most people think of it as a 2 seater; therefore, i don't get asked for many rides.

Cons

somehow, after rain or condensation, i always manage to be wearing it if i have the window open.  it's really annoying.

Minis Are Too Much Fun. You Might Not Be Able To Handle It! — i love my mini! i don't think i could even drive another car. she handles like a champ and "corners like she's on rails". They are moderately priced, prior to add all the "extras". bobbing and weaving in traffic was never so much fun before purchasing my mini, sonshyne. :) i love attention, and my car and i certainly get it!

Love My Mini — This car still makes me smile every time I see it, and every time I drive it. Yes it runs on Premium, but that tank lasts me 2.5 weeks vs every week with my previous F150. I can't recommend the MINI enough. Love it!

Pros

Cute, British and unbelievably fun to drive, oh and it's made by BMW.

Cons

Costly, too many options (speccing it up can take years!) and the suspension/dampers are a bit stiff.

Much, Much Better Than My Previous 206!! — Hard to say that I love it. First, because I'm not sure it's very healthy to LOVE a car, and second because the accelerations are not ... as thrilling as I hope they would have been. On the other hand, it handles like a dream. I've got the ESP (an optional extra, so shame on you BMW) and no matter the weather conditions, you can hammer it as much as you want. It weighs about the same as the 206 I had before, but my God it handles better! You are always looking for twisty roads just to enjoy the perfect steering, the way the car moves under braking and then the way it balances itself when you get back on the throttle! Sure, it is a bit thirsty, and costly, and I wish it had more power, and yes, the ride can be harsh on a bumpy surface, but just look at it! So cute and there's this "so British" touch that I love.

Pros

Absolutely astonishing vehicle, a lot of car for the money... I owned a lot of luxury, high end vehicles in my life and this car became my absolute favorite almost immediately, so much that my new car is now a 2011 Mini Cooper S.

Cons

Cargo capacity is great for a small car, but can become a problem for a family of 3 with luggage. For two people - it's awesome, because the rear seats fold down 50/50 and you have more room than most sedans/

Pros

This mini was fantastic to drive. Great Handling, plenty of power and just very cool. No real issue at all. Great fit and finish inside and just a great overall experience

Cons

Interior latch failed, but I believe this was an issue for them until 2006.

Super Fun — This was the first Mini that I have owned. I found this mini with only 38000 miles on it with the right trim package. It was just under the John Cooper Works. Totally fun to drive and plenty of room for a 6' 1" driver. The fit and finish of the interior was really nice and it kept that european feel as well. I would recommend driving or owning one.

Super Car — I love the looks and size of this car, as small as it is, it has room for four passengers, and with the rear seats folded I use it to transport all kinds of things, like two 55" wingspan model airplanes and all the gear I need to fly them. I don't like how expensive they are to buy and the fact that they don't keep their value as used vehicles. One more thing i love about Mini is their many (dealer) programmable nuances.

A Lot Of Fun! — I have a blast driving this car everyday to work and back. It's one of the best city driving cars I've had. It's very easy to pass, change lanes, insert yourself in traffic, etc... Acceleration is pretty good, handling is great, overall driving experience is very fun! Reliability is another issue... It seems that a new warning light turns on every six months since I've had it and it's never cheap to fix.

Love My Mini! — Title says it all. This car is absolutely phenomenal, has great pickup and speed. It's like driving a street legal go-cart. It makes me excited to go to work every morning just because of my commute. You can't help but have an ear to ear grin when you get out of it. Not much cargo room though.

Pros

Great handling, great for parking, and easy to clean. The convertible is also well suited for the Californian weather.

Cons

I would think a smaller car like the MINI would have better gas mileage than 32mpg HWY.

Mini Cooper Convertible: A Fun And Easy To Maintain Car. — The 2005 make year is arguably the most reliable year with the lowest maintenance. Car after 2006 cost more for maintenance because of the digital settings. Everyone who owns or has driven a MINI will understand the experience of other MINI drivers. It's not uncommon to get a little hand waive or honk by other MINI drivers when I'm on the road -- especially if two convertibles with their top down pass by each other.

Pros

If you can sacrifice a bit of economy, it's the most fun on four wheels! Banging & popping on the overrun and a whine & shout on acceleration brings the MINI to life!

Cons

Economy could be better - needs a remap if I'm being honest.

Milltek + Alta 15% 2005 Mini Cooper S — The standard Cooper S is potent enough but with a little fettling it really turns it up to eleven. Performance is pretty sudden. Going through the gears becomes a quick affair and is so surprising. The accompanying Milltek compliments the MINI's character and pace very well, with a pop and bang on the overrun. Around the corners it sticks like glue to the road, the lowering springs really make a valuable difference when winding through the bends. The ride is noticeably harder though, although my inclusion of run-flat tyres (Pirelli) really don't help the cause. From inside, the seats are comfortable on short trips but can become an aching pain if on a long journey. However the seats are fully adjustable with lumbar support, although I don't find the latter too helpful. Around town, where most of my driving takes place, the economy takes a real bashing. In the colder months it was returning around 21mpg in the city which has risen to about 24mpg as of late. On a longer trip you can expect to achieve 29-31mpg on a good day. Taking away the boring bit of economy however and this is the most fun you can have in a metal box without mega servicing costs and can't recommend these modifications enough!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
