The 2005 RX 330 was the second year of production for the redesigned luxury SUV. Lexus originally conceived the RX as a "crossover" between the luxury sedans which had brought them so much success and the increasingly desirable SUV. A larger and more powerful RX was introduced in 2004, and featured several minor improvements for 2005.
Optional additions included an adaptive front headlight system with high-intensity discharge headlights, side-curtain airbags able to detect roll-over, and a navigation system which features voice activation and Bluetooth wireless technology. An 8-way power adjustable passenger seat was also new.
Drivers continued to be impressed with the car-like feel of the RX. The 330 is quick and responsive. The Vehicle Stability Control System supports the RX through tight turns, and drivers often comment on the fine balance between the smooth ride and firm feel. The most common complaint from owners who bought the vehicle new is how stripped the base model is, without the very costly luxury options.
