2005 Land Rover Range Rover HSE Review
ProsUsed luxury vehicle at great value Consgas mileage

Outstanding Suv — I purchased a 2005 Range Rover HSE, a $74,123 cost new by the previous owner, for $25,000 with only 44,000 miles in July 2010. It did not have one scratch and was in perfect condition inside and out. I used the VIN # to research past service work from the Land Rover dealership and found it never had any prior negative service problems. Since the RR HSE body design has not changed in almost 10 years, I purchased online and installed after market RR front and side grills which really added to it's looks. I also purchased a 45,000 mile, 3 year bumper to bumper extended warranty for $2,900. This is the best value for the money anyone who appreciates owning a luxury SUV could ever asked for. For example, my son paid $84,000 for his new 2006 RR HSE, drove it almost 80,000 miles and only got $23,000 on trade in. I think anyone who is able to buy a used $74,000 luxury SUV of any make with only 44,000 miles is certainly getting a high value vehicle for their money. Although the gas mileage only averages around 15 mpg around town, on a 200 mile trip from San Antonio to Houston, with speed control set exactly on 70 mph, my onboard computer showed I averaged 20.1 mpg. I am very happy with my RR and found it to be the best SUV I have ever owned, especially for the investment. Primary Use: Family transportation

Great Vehicle To Do Anything. — Overall I liked everything about this vehicle, handeling, performance, ect. I see only 2 things ai did not like are the gas mileage and it is only a 5 passanger vehicle and even that is only a bother when it is needed. Primary Use: Family transportation

Best All-round Vehicle Land Rover — Best All-Round Vehicle I Have Ever Owned, rugged, and stylish. The cup-holder on the passenger side of the car is flimsy, and actually broke when a passenger entered and their backpack hit the cup-holder. Remedy was covered under warranty. The Range Rover gets a variety of upgrades aimed at improving the driving experience: both available engines have an extra dose of horsepower, the interior is even more luxurious, and the level of technology, both inside the cabin and under the skin, is more impressive than ever. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Overall...great Suv To Own — I really like our Range Rover, but still have not figured out how all the options work. I was fortunate enough to buy a 2005 RR with only 45,000 miles and absolutely no scratches anywhere. The inside looks no diffrent than a new one, thanks to the previous owner's care. I do have a small rattle around the rear door on bumpy roads that I have been unable to locate. The gas mileage is very good on the highway at 70 mph versus the mileage around town. I was able to get 19.7 mpg on a recent 300 mile Interstate trip, but only around 11.5 around town. Primary Use: Family transportation

My Range Rover - Ultimate Jeep — For a big vehicle, the range rover has terriffic performance, the model i own can also function in sport mode and once you step on it the whole v8 engine takes off. The noise levels are very low, once you are inside the car you seem totally immune to what is happenning outside the cabin. The sound system is fantastic and seems like a studio,it has a harman kardon system that is just COOL! Its quite expensive to own but once you have it, the envy from passers by makes up for that......In my country, Nigeria, there is a shortage of qualified mechanics that specialise in range rovers and that makes it relatively expensive to maintain, i have even had to order an electronic component from the UK once. Having owned a 2006 toyota 4runner, 2002 Nissan pathfinder, 2006 toyota landcruiser and still own a 2008 ford escape.......the range rover is a whole new experience in Jeep ownership....Its a perfect blend of luxury and ruggeddness.....When driving the car you feel like passing through anything and the ride still manages to remain smooth......AMAZING!

Want The Super Charged! — Always wanted one and l think is really the only 4x4 to have, although nowadays there is some pretty stiff competion - Q7, Cayenne etc... Don't even mention the sport edition as this is naff, it's a girls car designed for women, almost as bad as a Freelander old shape! Primary Use: Commuting to work

2005 Range Rover Hse — 2005 Range Rover HSE 2005 is the last year BMW owned Land Rover so it has the same type of motor as the 7 series BMW. Smooth ride great to cruise in. You don't mind getting stuck in traffic when you are in this. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
