This sedan is now one of two X-Type models to house the 3.0 liter V-6, with the other being the new Sportwagon. The larger V-6 generates 227 horsepower and 209 pound-feet of torque, for a 0 to 60 mph time of 7.1 seconds. The five-speed automatic transmission is standard with this model, but the manual is available as a no cost option.

Additional standard features here include electro-chromatic mirrors, a power front passenger seat, and the larger engine. Some previous features like the moon roof are now packaged into pricey option groups.
