Can't Believe Honda Stopped Making This Vehicle! — Bought this vehicle yesterday - very clean and looks sharp with 93K miles on it - only one small worn spot on driver's side seat back - it has held up quite well and think I made a smart purchase -my ratings are expectations based on reviews - will update as appropriate.

Pros

Tons of cargo space. Lots of utility. Easy to clean. Fenders won't ever rust. Maintenance cost is super, super low & reliability extremely high.

Cons

MPG isn't stellar. It's a little weak in power.

Truly An All-purpose, Simple Utility Vehicle — Folding the rear seats up takes 5 seconds. Once folded up, there's a wealth of space, and it's FLAT. I've put so much in this vehicle: bicycles (without removing seats or front wheels), snow blower, full-size refrigerator, 4x10 sheets of drywall, concrete mixer, 7' Christmas tree, 20 bags of ready -mix concrete... list keeps going and going.

Versitile — Upgraded from a Civic to this car. Great all around car. Can stop on the fly at garage sales and pick up furniture. Seats fold up toward the window or you can take them completed out. Great car to drive.

Flexible, Unique, Reliable, Spacious, Easy To Clean — Like utility and ease of holding things. Floor board is flat and seats lift up off the floor for storage. easy to drop a seat for third person when needed or fourth person. Lots of storage under rear seats and in center console. Lot of storage pockets. Wet proof seats. Can wash out the floor as there is no carpet. Easy to clean.

Pros

It is a unique little SUV. AWD.  Headroom gives open roomy feel. Better fuel economy than many SUVs. Interior is made to accommodate water soaked clothes and gear. Rear seats are removable and can pivot up and latch flat against the sides. Ahead of its time, the Element is just out of range of real star status due to the lack of real world driveline calibration. Performing maintenance is normal and convenient. This vehicle is honestly hard to replace with a comparable vehicle without paying far too much or sacrificing gas mileage tremendously. With the addition of larger offroad tires snow handling,  grip, ride and offroad clearance and ability improve noticeably well beyond front wheel drive equipped vehicles.

Cons

Quirky handling. 5 speed should be a 6 speed. Fuel consumption increases above 3500 rpm or 70 mph. Weight distribution too much to rear causing front wheel spin on an incline. AWD should start out as RWD engaging front as needed which is opposite to what it does. Makes a funny noise in reverse and gearing can be a bit jerky with manual trans. Incorrect fitting O.E. tires too small for vehicle from factory. Limited storage compartments. Attaching brush guard or bull bar is easy but mounting points are weak and mostly cosmetic. Engine space is tight for serpentine belt replacement. This not a heavy load rated vehicle and can be underpowered for that purpose. Objects and pets will slide on floor if not braced.

Good For Many But Limited For Some. — Unique styling and design accents. Rear passenger doors are inconvenient for passengers and driver at times. Good sound system on EX. Automatic transmission is preferable for this vehicle. Seats 4 but good room for cargo. Oversized tires helped a great deal with the gear ratio/mpg/driveability issue.

My Element — This is an entry suv kind of Honda. It does what I need it for, which is some hauling and space. I like the style a lot and reliability has been much better than my previous xb. Handling and gas economy is also a plus.

We Love Our Element! : ) — We love our E. We just bought it off our lease and plan on keeping it for a long time. It is perfect for us. It is fun to drive, gets good gas mileage, and it reliable. I love the fact it has a tailgate to sit on when we go camping. Great for hauling stuff from Home Depot, taking the dogs for a ride, and even going on long trips with. There is generous leg room in both the front and back. My husband has named it Elton.

Great Car For Hauling Friends And Pulling The Boat To The Lake With The Dog In The Back. — Awesome car with moderate power, and decent gas mileage, with plenty of cargo space. The interior is very functional. Awesome stereo system that plays MP3 and a bass tube built into the dash. Great for hauling the dog around and bicycles in the back.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Very Utilitarian — It works perfectly for me as I use it for commuting and also for construction work I do on the side. Holds a suprising amount of tools or my golf equipment and buddies on road trips, or for any trade, and it's easy to clean. Best overall car for my needs.
