Pros

Excellent gas mileage and very reliable.

Cons

Not much room inside. Lots of road noise. Not comfortable for long distances if you have a carload of people.

Good Commuter Car. — It is a great, reliable car. Gets excellent gas mileage (have had as high as 42 mpg). It handles well, but is not very exciting to drive. It does get crowded inside and not great for tall people. Insurance is reasonable too. Every time I get bored with it and think of selling it, I remember what a good car it is and change my mind!

Must Buy For Cheap And Reliable, But Somewhat Fun And Powerful Transportation! — Performance: Slow from take-off, high power past 4K rpms, surprising amount of torque Build Quality: Amazingly well built. Not a single issue yet. Only squeaks were from bad brake pads. Car is built like a rock. No repairs have been needed in 5 years! Just general maintenance like any other car. Exterior is alright, kinda normal and average, seen everywhere. Interior is low-end but comfortable. Has all the necessities, which is acceptable.

Great Car — loved the reliability....fuel economy and handling . i have put 120.000 miles on the car in 6 1/2 years. I bought it used with 40,000 miles. Other than an alternator and belts , only other service was wear items. best auto i have ever owned.

Just Plain Transportation — Want a car that will last you 15 to 20 years and you only have to change the oil and put brake pads on it? Want to look like everyone else on the road and totally blend in with the crowd? Do you only drive with one other person in the world and two small children or pets? Then the Honda Civic is for you. Great commuter car as it will certainly will not distract anyone with its looks nor attract the attention of police. Its a Honda Civic champion of the un-cool vehicles and defender of all things four cylinder. Some may argue that Civics can be cool but slapping one of those buzz bomb mufflers and nice rims and tires does not turn it into a sports car.

Pros

Nice style i think thats about it. Oh and its peppy 8,000 rpm engine is ok

Cons

preferred the 95  to the 05. I hated having the engine half way into the drivers compartment! I couldn't change the spark plugs! And mini van wiper blades! WTF?

Nice Style But Preferred The 95 Instead — I loved the 95, had a couple exs. Then one day i tried out the "new" civic and it seemed ok. Then I went to do normal wear and tear items and I couldnt reach the spark plugs because the engine is half way into the drivers compartment. The si made a nice vroom over the ex of the same year and I like the si styling better but the rear end is loose and it still lacks power even as a DOHC pushing 200HP. The "new" model seems so heavy compared to the 95.

I Love My Civic :) — Not a particularly fast or luxury car, but I still absolutely love it. I love the way it looks and I'm doing some mods and there are so many choices for Civics... I got it for a great price with not a lot of miles and I get pretty great gas milage.

Pros

very reliable, great interior, 35 mpg

Cons

road noise, a little lite on power.

Great Car — I love this car. In my opinion, the exterior looks better than the 8th gen civics. It could use some more power, but you can't beat 35 mpg. The interior is much better than others in its class with a very clean looking dash and center stack. Back seat leg room is adequate and there's plenty of room for cargo in the huge trunk. I bought it new 3 years and almost 40000 miles ago and I haven't had any problems. My only real complaint is that at highway speeds there is a little more road noise than I would like. I would also invest in some different tires if you plan on much winter driving since the stock tires don't offer much grip in the snow.

Pros

Cheap insurance, nearest thing to a type R without the cost.

Cons

It's an FF, and I'd rather have an FR! The engine is decent for economy, but not much cop in a drag race.

Not Too Bad Really. The Turning Circle Is The Worst Thing About This Car. — It's ok, definitely more for economy rather than power. The brakes are pretty damn good, but that 1.6i engine should have always been a DOCH rather than the SOHC that it is. Still, insurance is pretty cheap on it. The turning circle is truely shocking though...

Pros

works as advertised

Cons

paint is easily scratched

55

It's A Honda — Nothing bad to say maybe only that quality of paint seems to have changed for the worse between my current Civic and my previous Civic. Other than that it has been flawless. Well built (maybe a tiny rattle here and there which is understandable as it was not made in Japan), everything just works. It is so maintenance free that i had to flush out a rat that found its little peace of heaven in the engine compartment. Performs well, VTEC still does its magic.
