2005 GMC Safari 3 Dr STD Passenger Van Extended Trim Overview

The 2005 GMC Safari STD Passenger Van seats up to eight in three rows of seats.  The truck-based minivan features rear-wheel drive and a 4.3-liter, 190-hp V6 engine with 4-speed automatic.  The transmission has a tow-haul mode to help tow up to 5400 pounds.  Riding on 16-inch wheels, the base model of this minivan comes standard with 4-wheel ABS brakes and dual front airbags.  Side airbags are not offered, though the 2005 Safari STD does receive five stars in side impact crash tests.

With the rear seats up, the cargo area holds 41 cubic feet.  Folded down, the space expands to 170 cubic feet.  Though it's the base trim, the Safari STD features a full power setup, air conditioning, a radio, cruise control, intermittent wipers, and a tilt steering wheel.  Automatic headlights and daytime running lights add a degree of safety.  Dual rear doors open barn-like, and there is a sliding passenger side door (manually operated).  Add-ons include keyless entry, a CD player, a rear window wiper, rear climate control, and a roof rack.
