CarGurus Overview
Since it serves as both a commercial passenger carrier or a large family van, the all-wheel drive on the 2005 GMC Safari STD AWD Passenger Van adds extra safety and security in tough weather. The AWD is accompanied by a limited slip center differential, with a locking rear differential available as an option. Under the hood is a 190-hp, 4.3-liter V6 and 4-speed automatic with tow/haul mode. Dual front airbags, daytime running lights, automatic headlights, and 4-wheel ABS brakes help earn five-star side impact crash ratings, though frontal impact tests yield only three stars.
Power windows, locks, and mirrors, cruise control, intermittent wipers, a radio, tilt steering wheel, tinted glass, and power steering are standard in the eight-passenger minivan. The 2005 Safari STD AWD has three rows, with both rear rows foldable to expand the 41 cubic foot cargo hold to 170 cubic feet. With an optional trailer hitch, the van can tow up to 5400 pounds, and a roof rack can also be added. Other options include rear climate control, a CD player, keyless entry, and a rear window wiper. The rear doors come standard as dual barn doors, but there is also a Dutch option where the rear window opens separately.
This overview covers the 3 Dr STD AWD Passenger Van Extended trim only.
