2005 Chrysler Town & Country Trims

Avg. Price: $6,956

Chrysler has lowered the price of this base, or STD model for 2005, allowing buyers a more affordable route to ownership for this popular minivan. Unfortunately, many of the best features are not included on this model. The 3.3 liter V-6 delivers 180 horsepower, sent to the front wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. ABS is optional on this model.

Standard features include a CD audio system, cruise control, power windows, remote power door locks and single-zone climate control. Knee airbags are a new addition for this year.

The second tier LX is similar to the base STD: both share the same 3.3 liter V-6 engine and the short wheelbase body style. The LX adds several additional standard features. LX upgrades include power mirrors, heated mirrors, four-wheel ABS and folding center and rear seats. Chrysler's new Stow N Go set up is not available on this model. Three row side curtain airbags were a new option for 2005.

In 2005, more than $10,000 separated this Limited trim from the most affordable Town & Country model. Like the Touring, the Limited finish was applied to the longer wheelbase body and powered by the 215 horsepower, 3.8 liter V-6. Standard safety features included a tire pressure monitor, ABS, head airbags for all three rows, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, traction control, side and knee airbags, and fog lamps.

The Limited trim also features several additional luxury items, including a navigation system, CD changer, heated front seats, electroluminescent gauges, a memory function for the driver's seat, automatic climate control for the front and rear and chrome wheels. A DVD entertainment system, Chrysler's "UConnect" hands-free communication and leather upholstery were optional.

Signature Series

Avg. Price: $6,868

Only one Town & Country Touring model is available for 2005. The AWD and Platinum Series variants have been dropped. The limited edition Signature Series model uses the Touring style as its base, but really functions as a separate trim level.

The Touring model takes a significant step beyond the LX and STD trims, with respect to both price and features. This styles uses the longer (119.3 inch) wheelbase and the potent 3.8 liter OHV V-6 power plant. Standard safety features include four-wheel ABS, knee airbags, traction control and a tire pressure monitor. Chrysler's new "Stow n Go" seating is also included.

The list of additional features is quite substantial here. Upgrades include a power liftgate, dual power sliding doors, a garage door opener, a trip computer, multi-zone climate control and a roof rack. DVD entertain and navigation systems are optional on this trim.
