Cruises Like A Dream By Laura
I love the ride of this Cruiser. It cruises like a dream. For a 4-cylinder it has great pick up and go. It gets 25-30 mpg. It's a lot of fun to drive. It already needed a head gasket change at $24... Read More

CarGurus Overview
Although Chrysler has steadily expanded the PT cruiser selection since its 2001 debut, this model has remained largely unchanged. a convertible version of the Touring trim is new for 2005, and the entire lineup would receive a face lift in 2006.
The Touring is powered by a 2.4 liter DOHC four cylinder engine, which provides 150 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a four-speed automatic as the only transmission option on this model. Fuel economy is estimated at 22/29 mpg.
This model comes standard with all the Base features, and also adds tinted glass, 16-inch alloy wheels, an anti-theft system, fog lights, cruise control, keyless entry and power mirrors.
The base engine PT models have received steady criticism for the poor gas mileage for a compact wagon with such a modest power supply. Other issues are minor creature comforts, like the seat belts, seating position, and controls.
This overview covers the Touring trim only.
