The Chrysler Crossfire was introduced in 2004 in one trim, and the unique SRT-6 followed in 2005. This was the first Chrysler vehicle to be badged SRT-6, which denoted a supercharged version of the Mercedes engineered power plant.
The Crossfire SRT was powered by a 3.2 liter V-6, tweaked for 330 horsepower, verses 215 in the naturally aspirated version. Engine torque also jumps from 229 to 310 pound-feet. Decreases in fuel economy are marginal, considering the abundance of additional power: SRT-6 drivers can expect 17/24 mpg. The SRT-6 is only available with Chrysler's Autostick transmission, routing power to the coupe's rear wheels. This model also uses a special sport-tuned suspension.
The SRT is similarly equipped to the new Limited trim Crossfire. Unique standard features include a front spoiler, special suspension, and a navigation system.
One common owner and reviewer complaint is that there is no true manual transmission. Chrysler's Autostick is a five-speed automatic with a manual shift gate. The SRT's superb handling and extraordinary power are often listed as favorite features.
