2005 Chevrolet Cavalier Base Review
ProsFuel economy ConsDon't dare be late on maintence or oil changes or you will take a serious chance of creating severe problems that will cost more in the end.

Good For Price & Economic — I bought my car brand new 1 mile on it. This car had one problem in the first 4 months. I had a defective battery which caused the car not to start and had to be towed. It was quickly repaired and I didn't pay a dime. The other problem I had was defective moldings on the car. I was in one accident 8 months after having the car and was rear ended. Besides the crappy service I got for the insurance company. THis car definitely took a licking. It drove the same after the repair. I was not hurt seriously thank god. The stero system may not be super quality top line. I was impressed with the sound it put out. I have only a CD player nothing fancy. I don't have power windows or seats. Which is fine not looking for anything further to repair. I asked for a base car and that is what I got to go from Point A to Point B. The only defect I got was the breaks. They had to replace one caliper & rotors for the first break job. Again covered under warranty. The inspection found it was a manufacture defect. No problem just fixed it. This happened well after a year of having the car. I travel to work back and forth 13 miles one way with very very local shopping. I get the oiled changed regularly and maintenace regular with the tune up packages. Anyone who give a horrible horrible rating on this car must not be taking care of it properly. I do caution that maintence must be kept on this car in order to problems to be solved before they become costly. This should be common sense to people. I did my homework and heard about the pro's and con's of the former models & years. That is one big must with this car in order for it to keep working like a dream. Prosmpg Consjust not having four-wheel drive on gravel roads

Overall A Very Nice Car That Doesn't Cost Much For The Upkeep — the car handles really well in any type of weather it is front wheel drive so it does good in the snow. haven't really had any problems with the brakes or anything. i have had to put one set of brakes on it and new tires all the way around besides that nothing has been done except the routine oil change. there are a couple of scratches on the outside of the car and one dent on the passenger side behind the door, the interior is clean. the greatest thing about the car is i get about 36 mpg highway which is awesome. also the car is not too small and i love driving it. My Cavalier — I love this car! Not only did it cost me 8 grand, but it runs beautifully. The stickshift adds control to acceleration and gearbox maintenance is minimal. Gas Milage is around 25 mpg and those 25 mpg are fun with the amount of power. This car is a must have for anyones frist car.

Great Car — it has wonderful get up and go it will even grab rubber in fourth gear it also will pull 13's in a quarter mile stock it does 16's i only have a cold air intake and exhaust done with a body kit but thats it and those people who own the dodge neon srt4's either need to learn how to drive them or get rid of them because with my cavalier i can beat one in a quarter mile and off the line i have done it more than once with a few differt srt4's and those people with the mitsubishi eclipses they just straight suck im sorry but they do but if u need to find out for yourself then go to milan dragway on wednesday's and pay the twenty dollars so u can take a picture of my tail lights as i pass you before the finish line. ALL IN ALL THE 2005 CHEVY CAVALIER LS SPORT COUPE IS A WONDERFUL CAR. Owner for 1 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:30,000

Something — This cavalier is ok for my budget but it is definitely not a car that i would want to keep thats for sure. It actually has a halfway decent stock radio in it. It sounds better than most new cars. This is the best thing about cause I didnt have to spend any more money on it to make it sound better. Primary Use: Commuting to work

You Get What You Pay For — The car has great looks for the prize range and performance is great as well. The car was good on gas. The only trouble is there were some things that felt cheap. The seat were not that comfortable and I would have loved to have a few more inches of leg room. Overall it was functional and fun to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work

2005 Chevy Cavalier — My Cavalier was fast, light, and good looking with a rear spoiler, and nice polished silver color. It keped me safe while in a major car accident, and it was fun to drive, because it picked up speed pretty quick. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
