For its swan song, the 2005 Buick Park Avenue Ultra adds some commemorative Special Edition appearance packages on the last 3000 off the production line. These include chrome whels, badging, and a black and platinum exterior. Otherwise, the 240-hp, 3.8-liter supercharged V6 engine and 4-speed automatic remain the same in the 2005 Park Avenue Ultra. 17-inch chrome wheels, 4-wheel ABS brakes, traction and stability control, a tire monitor, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirrors, mirror turn signals, and dual front-side airbags make up the long list of features that earn the full-size luxury sedan a four-star front and side crash rating.
Adding onto the base, the 2005 Park Avenue Ultra includes heated seats, driver's memory settings, OnStar, heated mirrors, a garage opener, CD player, and wood trim. This is in addition to power front seats, leather and wood trim, leather upholstery, and wheel-mounted audio controls. Options add on a popular heads-up display, much appreciated rear parking sensors, a sunroof, and a CD changer. You can also get bucket seats to replace the front bench seat, reducing seating capacity to five passengers. Drivers say the supercharged V6 adds a lot of power and confident acceleration, and the overall ride is smooth, effortless, and very comfortable. Both interior and exterior look out-of-date, and the 2005 Park Avenue Ultra depreciates quickly in value.
