My 'poor Man's Porsche" — Bought this car when the salesman started it up in the showroom! The sound turned everyone's heads.. The AWD provides for exceptional handling and the power of the 3.2L 241 HP engine enables it to run with the big boys..One of the favorites in my stable of cars!! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

I Love It And Will Never Sell It Ever!!!!!!!!!! — great acceleration with the 6-speed, EXCELLENT BRAKING, handling is great with the 4motion, build quality is typical german engineering.....GREAT its 6 years old and have one rattle, but its not noticeable. interior looks great with the black leather sport seats with the .:R logo on them. exterior looks low profile but sticks out just enough to keep the ricers commin' =) gas mileage is great... about 23 hot rodding around town. maintenance sucks ass cause the stealerships will rob you till you are forced over to food stamps. fun factor: 9/10 Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Best Car Ever. — Acceleration, braking, and handling are all exceptional. It's a Volkswagen, so it obviously is built with the utmost quality. It's very pleasing to the eye. Inside and out. Great curves, dual tip exhaust, leather interior, etc. The mileage is pretty decent, and hardly requires maintenance. This car is extremely fun to drive. 6 speed manual. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsFun to drive, nice balance of features ConsProbably overpriced, even used; rare enough that service could be tricky

Well-kept Secret — There isn't much you can't like about VW's Wolf in Sheep's clothing. Decent power and handling, AWD, and typicallyTeutonic interior, with just enough creature comforts. And the first time your mother-in-law dusts some hopped-up Ricer from a stoplight is priceless. C'mon, it's just a Golf, right? Riiiight. The only downsides are the price (too high), and the relative rarity of the model (only 5,000 units of the '04 in the US) that seems to puzzle some technicians and service advisers. |

Drive One Before You Die! — Performance - Fast! That lusty V6 gets you hooked. Build quality - Bank vault, save for a couple of rattles... Appearance - The photo speaks for itself ;) Cost of Ownership - Donations to 'Fund My VW' graciously accepted... Fun Factor - Grins all round!!! The way this car grips and fires out of corners is what fun is made of! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Glad I Bought This Car, Have Not Gotten Bored Of It In The Almost Ten Years Of Owning It. — The car handles amazingly. Its a lot of fun to have on an open back road. The acceleration is very quick now due to the work I have done to it, 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. The build quality has always seemed very good. Nothing has fallen off or have fallen apart once in 7 years. Also nothing on the interior or chassis has ever broken. Appearance wise, I actually do not like the 99-04 body style of Volkswagens. Although the R32 has a very nice exterior look. It is the only mk4 body style I actually like. It comes with 18" wheels and low profile tires. The body appearance is sleek and looks very aggressive and low to the ground. The features and high quality parts are what really make the car stand out. It comes with Brembo big brake kit, Bilstein adjustable shocks and struts, konig leather racing bucket seats, Momo steering wheel, OZ Racing wheels, and a high quality stock stereo system. The price of the car when i bought it in 2004 was $38,000 and I'd say it was completely worth it. The car is the most fun out of anything I've ever been able to drive before. I have a close friend who had a 2003 BMW M3 and when both of our cars were stock his was faster my car handled a lot better. Now I have a lot of work done to my car and it has approx. 356 AWHP. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsWhat isn't awesome about this car? ConsAbsolutely nothing.

It's Going To Be Hard For Me To Top This Car... — I wouldn't drive anything else. That's really all there is to say about this car. While it isn't as fast as other vehicles in it's class (STI, Evo), the R32 is by far the more balanced package. It's comfortable, is decently fast, and has an exhaust note that is to die for. Most people don't even buy an aftermarket exhaust. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |
